Dana Hall vs Dexter Southfield vs Thayer for a middle school girl

I would appreciate if someone could shed some light on Dana Hall, Dexter South field and Thayer. Which one is a better fit for a asian middle school student? Thanks.

They are very different and one would need to know much more your daughter and your commuting situation. But if I had to pick between the 3 for MY child who is probably not like yours, I would go Dexter.
The other two wouldn’t be a good fit for her. That said, I really like Dana. Thayer not so much.

I would also think about the commute. There are busses to Thayer and Dexter/Southfield, not sure about Dana Hall. Southfield is more sporty. Thayer kids are involved in something - many are sports, but can be other things. Dana Hall has boarding for HS so it is a different environment. They all have campuses - haven’t been to Southfield but looked at camp there (and have been to British school several times).

Does she want all girls (Dana Hall, Southfield but some connections with Dexter) or coed? How do the size of MS compare? How many stay for HS? How did she feel visiting/revisiting the schools?

Write a pro list for each school and see what is important to her.

Good luck with your decision.

Dexter has a great campus. My kids play club soccer there. You have a fantastic view.

Is the fact that she’s Asian really your daughter’s most important defining characteristic? If you want to tell us more pertinent attributes – she’s athletic or into theater or great at science but hates history or whatever – maybe we could help. But if you literally want to know whether any of these three schools treat Asian kids differently than other kids, then I think you probably didn’t do enough homework before applying to them in the first place.
