Dance as an elective or commuting???

Hey, I am a freshman for Fall 2013.

I have a passion for Jazz Funk dance (similar to a fusion between contemporary jazz and hip hop) but it is not offered at USC as an elective.

The closest USC offers as an elective is Contemporary Jazz or Hip Hop. Yet, contemporary jazz is similar to ballet, which is too elegant for me, while hip hop is too manly for me.

So I have two choices now:

-Take contemporary jazz or hip hop at USC as an elective, but I don’t like either style.

-Regularly commute to a dance studio that is 20 minutes away. I am planning to go once a week. Probably using the Yellow Cab Service.

Which option is better?

Why not try something like 385 Choreography and Performance. My D took this as a freshman and loved it. Once the Gloria Kaufmann School of Dance opens (I believe in 2014) I would think every style will be available as a performance class.
