Dance

I am far from the world’s greatest dancer. I’ve never taken any kind of dance class. All my experience comes from the various shows I’ve done over the years. How big a role does dance play in admissions decisions compared to say, voice or acting or whatever? Are all parts of the triple threat weighted equally?

I don't think dance is considered as important as is voice (which most people recognize/agree/believe is the biggest factor at Michigan) and acting.

Dance is actually pretty important at UMich, although not everyone is a dancer. But those who aren't tend to be incredible singer/actors - so basically, UMich is a lot like CCM - you generally have to be truly great (or show outstanding and clear potential) in 2 of the 3 disciplines, and one of them needs to be singing. Although UMich doesn't state this outright like CCM does, it seems to be true by looking at the UMich graduating classes from the last 7-8 years.

Thanks to both of you.
