Where is our generation going? Is mine the only school in which decent social interaction and friendly dancing has been displaced by pretend copulation?

Nope. You should see some of the dances at my school.

No I think every school is like this.
And also pretend copulation rocks.

I like grinding!

This is the same reaction people had about swing dancing back in the day. This happens every generation. get over it

^i agree w/ coolphreak. and to answer your question, grinding's the ONLY dance at my dances except at proms

grinding is popular at my school. Some teachers do break up the kids if they get too obscene

Dancing is supposed to be sexual IMO.

Look at Latino dancing. It has very suggestive hip movements, but it's also the best group of dances you'll ever find (though I'm a bit biased of course).

If you think grinding is bad, you need to go to a reggaeton club and see el perreo at its finest.

If you don't know what el perreo is, look it up and be amazed ;)

Our dances keep getting more and more sexual each generation. And as a society, we don't do anything about it. The next generation after us will probably consider orgy piles as danicing.

It's fun though.

though perreo=grinding...now I'm confused

What's pretend copulation? I tried putting the definitions of both words together and didn't see why that would be fun. Then again, I don't find dances super fun, either.

Remember when people used to think Elvis' gyrating hips were lascivious?

edit just realized "pretend copulation* meant "grinding" . . . nvm.

My coterie and I plan to attend the next Homecoming in 20s attire. It will be definitely fun...

You're kinda sorta close, but still have the wrong idea.

Grinding is crotch to ass. Perreo is crotch to just about anything and is done to reggaeton.

I think soon, dancing willl get so sexual that there will be a backlash. Then we can all go back to waltzing! Yay!

But today's "dancing" doesn't require any skill or learning as those of previous dancing did. It's pretty much a mild form of sex, which I blame on the popularity of Hip-Hop that glorifies women as sluts and men as gangsters. In the past, dancing reflected people's wants to achieve upper class affluence. Now we are all going back to the ghetto.

^^^ I think you're being a little melodramatic there. Grinding doesn't have to be sexual if you don't take it to that level. That's a personal choice. I spend a lot time at dances dancing with platonic friends and random guys. If I felt that dancing was being sexual, then I wouldn't be dancing with them! And going back to the ghetto...come on. 90% of the people who grind have never seen a ghetto in their lives...

@ princessbell

A girl's ass rubbing on a guy's crouch isn't sexual? Come on. It's a lap dance standing up.

Lmao. Girls generally perceive grinding differently from guys. Or at least they rationalize it to themselves as something better than clothed foreplay.

Besides, most of today's music is crap. That's why I dislike most dances.
