Also notified of Danforth by email today, denied as well. Congratulations to the finalists!
A “no” here too based on pathway. Keeping positive!!!
No change to the pathway one way or the other, still the same “deadline has passed,” message and no email. I am starting to think now that they never received his application?
My Son received the “Regret to inform you” email as well. His stats are ACT 35, 4.0 UW GPA, and valedictorian. I thought his short answer questions were excellent; the long essay was probably just OK. Visited campus during engineering day and interviewed.
Realize that this is a very competitive scholarship, but thought he had a decent chance at an invite. Will wait to see if admitted and, if so, what type of financial aid he might get. Based on the NPC it looks like it will be unaffordable even if admitted.
We are heading to the Singer/Stamps weekend at University of Miami next week. So, I guess as WashU moves down the list, Miami might be moving up.
@Ryan33 good news is the weather in Miami beats the weather in St. Louis! I don’t feel as bad about my son not getting invited after seeing your son’s stats.
@Ryan33 My DD had similar stats to your son and was rejected…very disappointing.
@Ryan33, same stats here. He was not invited to Singer/Stamps weekend at Miami, but they gave him $26k a year. Not enough to make it worth it. Waiting on Rice, Vandy, NYU and Claremont, but losing hope. Luckily we are in state for University of Michigan and he is in there, so he may end up a Wolverine after all.
Son rejected for Danforth. 2380, 4.0, Recs, ECs, AP scholar, NMF, Valedictorian. Shot down at Davidson as well.
Oklahoma or Kentucky? It’s a tough call.
@wrights1994 he is accepted EA at Michigan as well, but appears no merit award there either. So, looks unlikely that is not an option due to the out of state tuition.
Another Danforth rejection here! My son (with similar stats) also got invited to UMiami Stamps/Singer scholarship weekend. Will be going next week.
Same stats and same results for my daughter. She did ED so going regardless. It’s her dream school. It would of been nice to get something though. It would be financially really hard for us. We will have 2 in college next year.
anyone know the number of finalists of Compton scholarship?
