sub 10% acceptance
just got waitlisted
can you provide a link for this?
it says it in waitlist decision
No way, because around 4424 people got accepted EA. 2800 people might have been accepted RD, which means there was an overall 24% acceptance rate for Fall 2016. A drop from last year.
I believe they claimed that their freshman class has 2800 spots and 30000 applied. This does not mean that only 2800 got accepted as Georgia Tech’s yield rate is about 35%. This means that about 8000 will be accepted making the acceptance rate about 27%. Admissions are not as difficult as this post makes it seem.
Damn, why did they waitlist me I was deferred in EA.
If you were on the waiting list, show interest-also if it is your 1st choice see if your guidence counselor will make the call and commit for you-if you get an offer you will go. But only if true and there are no impediments to your going (like FA).
@yoyo27 That’s the amount of spots available vs the amount of applications submitted, not the acceptance rate. Georgia Tech’s yield rate is around 30%, which means roughly 3 in 10 students choose to attend after being accepted. The acceptance rate is also around 30%, meaning that out of the 30,000 that applied around 2,700 will choose to enroll.
TL;DR - The acceptance rate is still the same as last year… a bit above 30%.
