@TheGuy1 no one is forcing you to chime in, so i don’t know why you would be fed up. it is easy to disregard advice or opinions you disagree with. i understand your perspective and think that its probably just as likely to be true as any other theory on here. we’ll all know in two weeks for sure!
Yeah, thats true, but sometimes i feel like helping lol. Thats fair.
I made a thread for the following question and I’ll never really know if it means anything but - do your portals look stretched these days? Are each of the listed parts of the application now much farther away from the date entered which is now way over to the right of the screen? You have to be looking at the portal on a computer and not on a phone to see the difference. I want to take a poll here and then we can see if it matches up to acceptances.
You are helping indeed. But nobody said if you don’t get these emails you won’t get in (ESPECIALLY if you already sent all the documents, which would mean they would have no reason to contact you in the first place). About international students, even though it’s a scholarship, it’s still evaluated by the Financial Aid and Admissions Office, no?
Um
Curious what’s with the tension… this ought to be a place for Optimism…
Just Saying
Would like to agree. Compared to last year’s forum there’s less excitement and almost seems like a cutthroat environment. I have no doubt everyone here is incredibly accomplished.
Ok cumbaya everyone! None of us know if any of these “signs” mean anything. I, for one, appreciate that it’s really hard to wait. Maybe it’s jjst getting to everyone. S19 has probably seven decisions coming before Dartmouth. I’m guessing most of you have a bunch too. It’s going to be a very exciting two weeks!
I getchu @factoryboylol
Finally were on the same page.
Ummm @homerdog Idk exactly, i havent checked it yet. Ive sent literally everything in FA and supplemental docs tha i possibly can, hence haven checked the portal.
@TheGuy1 ok I just laughed out loud. I check s19’s portals twice a day to see if anything has changed or, in some cases, if they’ve posted a decision date yet.
Lol @homerdog I do check it, but its like once every 2 days. Well the yale portal has 3/28, so ig thats the date!
Some schools do certain things differently
I have the 28th etched in stone for D18…
4 schools before then and 4 on that day…
Then the real pressure to make the ultimate decision. The guide we had for Yale said she decided last minute…
Not sure waiting to the last minute is technologically prudent…
I think by 12:00 noon is a good safe time to make such a decision
Best Wishes to All
@homerdog You and I seem to have a lot in common:-) Good Luck to you and to everyone else on CC. We are all just a tad stressed, but the decisions will be out soon and then we can breathe.
I need these decisions to come out faster. The anxiety is really getting to me
May God bless everyone
Each of them should have a smile on their face after seeing decision
just got waitlisted from another school :-< now I’m stressing out about my sat subject scores and that they’re definitely not up to par but i guess i can’t do anything about it now. just gotta wait and hope i end up where i belong!
Daughter is RD. 4.95/5, 1510, great rec’s, great visual arts portfolio, good EC’s, solid leadership. Fluent French / bi-literacy certification. Strong essays, very strong writer. Is Dartmouth possible with a 1510? She’s NMF, for what that’s worth. Thanks.
I’d say thats slightly above avg for dartmouth (1500 is the avg).
So its alright by that end @PapaMode
It depends on the demand by major and its relative competitiveness. Dartmouth is known for Econs/Math/Bio?Business based high-demand.
Hi Everyone! ED kid here. The same discussion took place regarding FA emails during the ED period. One thing to keep in mind is that there are MANY different kinds of FA emails. Some simply request documents that you may have failed to send, and others are extremely specific in asking you to fill out a new form. In my case, the latter was true. I was asked to fill out a Dartmouth specific form 3 days before decisions were released, and was accepted. I’ve talked to a handful of others who had the same exact form requested and they were all accepted. The emails are certainly nothing to stress out about, and there is no hard and fast correlation to acceptance or rejection. Feel free to message me if you have any questions!
messaged you! @chemlover22
@chemlover22 Hi, thank you for this! I’m not able to PM you for some reason, could you, perhaps, PM me?
