Dartmouth Class of 2012

Lets introduce ourselves!

Who knows we all(well one or two might not be lucky) end up meeting at Dartmouth?

Let the discussions begin!

Class of 2012 Prospective Students [the ones I am aware of]:

AjayC

Tux (What is your real name? :) )

PimpleMoose (What's yours? :p )

I'm currently considering three schools for early decision, but in order they would be:

Dartmouth College

Brown University

University of Pennsylvania SEAS (very very distant from 1 and 2)

Oh wonderful!

I am just considering Dartmouth for ED. So whats your name tux?

w00t!

New common app out!

Not sure yet if I'll go ED, but I am taken with the possibility of skating on a NCAA Championship team. And oh yeah, I really liked the campus, the biology and languages departments.

I would definitely like to apply to Dartmouth, maybe ED. I was the one who started the "I'm visiting Dartmouth" thread. I visited it. All I have to say was WOW. I got a real sense of community, in other words, a great college environment I would love to be a part of. Cornell was nice, Penn was...okay. Could have done without the pre-professionalist approach and competitiveness of Wharton. Well good luck with Dartmouth! And oh yeah, my real name is Luke.

Welcome Aboard people!

I dont have enough funds to visit Dartmouth so I guess I would have to pacify myself with D Pictures and Virtual tours!

My name is Sabeeh Baig. It's a very uncommon male Muslim name. Although, there are quite a few people on Facebook with that name, haha.

Anyway, I'm working on my SAT this summer. I hope to get a 2250+ or even a 2300 on the October. I have yet to receive my AP scores, but I think those will be fine. Two of my SAT II scores are in the low-700s. My May chemistry is being rescored, and hopefully that'll also be in the low to mid-700s. And, I might just get my bio rescored cause I honestly did not get that score. It seems that alot of people have had the same problem with the bio.

My ED list is this:

Dartmouth

UPenn

I want to apply ED

tux:

how can you like both Dartmouth & Penn for ED? (They're apples and oranges....)

I remember that you had posted once that after talking to someone you were sold to Brown, tux? ;)

I didnt find your name uncommon probably because I live in a country where there are thousands of muslims.

anyone else recieved their view book? :p

Im applying! i am so torn between ED at columbia or Dartmouth. Im leaning more toward dartmouth. Can anyone help me?!? ahhhh!

^^^ yeah me too!!! wow i think they attract similar applicants right??

Columbia and Dartmouth also could not be more different from one another
(I think Columbia attracts applicants that are wowed with it being in NYC and the location is a major draw for the school)

I recommend e-mailing Slipper who started out at Columbia and finished at Dartmouth because he can tell you the strenghts and weaknesses of both schoools.

im considering applying to Dartmouth (i started the New Hampshire thread. post in there to help me decide!)

help us slipper!

Hey... im a 2012! But, ajayc, you spelled my name wrong! Just to give you a little information about my name to help you remember: Pamplemousse is grape fruit in french, but that was already taken, so i made it pampleMOOSE, in part to show my support for the DARTMOOSE. So anyways...

This process is going to be pretty daunting. It's finally sinking in that the time has come for the final stage of the college process (the actual application process) I can't believe it's already here! For me, and im sure many of you guys, this process began quite some time ago with that first college tour (most likely some time sophomore year). So, even though we are competing for the same spots, i sincerely wish the best of luck to all of you. Dartmouth is an awesome place, and i certainly hope that one of you guys on these forums gets in over some of my annoying classmates who will throw out an application to every IVY this year. From what I can see, many of you have the same quality that I see in every Dartmouth student: extreme love and dedication to the college. So with that said.... Good luck to you all!!!

On another note, I had a question about the common app that I just got from dartmouth in the mail. I was perusing the dauntingly-thick booklet and was unable to find any supplement to the common app (other than the peer rec). Does this mean that they just haven't released it yet, or there really is no supplement? Im guessing the former... either that or I completely missed a section of the application!

Sorry, that was a silly question, there is already another thread on this topic!

Welcome aboard Pamplemoose :p

Now I am not going to forget your name ;)
