Dartmouth Class of 2017 ED Applicants

I think it’s gonna come tonight near 8-9 EST

Just a guestimate, of course

Yep, I am an ED’er indeed! Thanks for the welcome! :)

I hope you’re right, Aspirare! At least it would be something happening. I’m tired of just waiting with absolutely no word on anything from the admissions office at all.

Mehh, I think it’s going to come out tomorrow at this point. Unless they’ve changed the decision date.

I’ll punch myself in the head if the decision date goes past this week

Same, especially after being led on to believe that it would be this week -_-…

I have trouble sleeping at night because of this.

yeah, i actually had a dream last week about being accepted into dartmouth. This impending decision is messing with my sleep and schoolwork productivity. I can’t even imagine trying to sit through school on decision date…

I have trouble sleeping, but I never really have actual dreams about Dartmouth. I did have one a while ago though, and same as you grayson, I got in! :)

I can’t think too much about getting accepted, I’m kinda just bracing for rejection now :/

That’s what everyone should be doing realistically. Yet, how can anyone just tell themselves that they’re going to get rejected and accept it? I can’t. I can’t bring myself to do that.

It’s a bummer that we haven’t gotten that email yet. I don’t think it’s a good sign either. If it hasn’t been sent to us yet tonight, then it’s not coming till at least tomorrow. But it seems last year they already had it by now. I’m worried, guys.

What if all us CC EDers get accepted? How awesome would that be :D

lol, it’s kind of assuring that all of our schools have such terrible records at D.
My school has around ~100 students who apply to U.S. universities each year, and we’ve done pretty well - around 30% of the students go to Ivy+. But Dartmouth has always been our weakest school, as we’ve never had an admit to Dartmouth ED before, and the only person who got accepted RD last year didn’t go :S
I do hope I get accepted, but chances just seem so slim! The other applicant from my school this year has a 5.0, a citizenship, and is not applying for FA (my counselor never believes any school is truly need-blind so…) Idk, I guess I’m desperate, but at the same time I’m trying to prepare myself for a defer or reject. Any idea on how to make swallowing those results easier?

No need to panic yet jonezi! And to be honest, I think I would rather hear on Friday. It would save me the trouble, if I don’t get in, of having to sit through another day of school knowing that I’m one of the first in my school to get rejected/deferred from a school.

@Cirroalex

One can only dream right?

To work off of careld’s point,

is anyone here applying for financial aid? I am.

I am, and I’m an international student to boot.

I’ve heard so many conspiracy theories about how even the need-blind schools ditch students, especially those from abroad, if they apply for FA… is this true? Even though I guess there’s no way to really confirm :(

Yeah, there’s really no way to confirm so I can’t really give you an answer about that.

I’m applying for FA as well.
And honestly, I think they truly are need-blind; D has SUCH a huge endowment, they could really afford to give every student a full ride if they wanted (not that it’d be super smart financially).

I did, but I doubt I’ll get any. I would think that if over 1,000 students applied ED to Dartmouth, a lot more people would be worrying with us on here.

@Cirroalex
Yeah, I hope I we all get to meet at the Outing Club’s summer trip for the incoming freshmen.

@graysonw that’s another thing I’d love about Dartmouth if I get in. Going on the freshman orientation outing trip and being a part of the Outing Club for four years would be so awesome
