Just popping in to say good luck to all of you as a fellow ED applicant

Applying tomorrow and super nervous!

Is a 740 a good CR score to apply to Dartmouth with ? Some site showed that the median there was 770 ! :O

@hypnosys: Median, meaning that there have been higher and lower! If you think you have a compelling application, you shouldn’t worry about one figure. As Shel Silverstein said: “Listen to the mustn’ts, child. Listen to the don’ts. Listen to the shouldn’ts, the impossibles, the won’ts. Listen to the never haves, then listen close to me… Anything can happen, child. Anything can be.”

anyone else have trouble logging into their online system even before it was officially down?

About to submit my app, just got my SAT score-2390. Wish me luck

I applied as well, although I won’t post my stats until I get my acceptance on December Good luck guys.

Applied from Hong Kong! So nervous… Hoping for the best and good luck to you all.

Hey, has anyone else tried to check the status of their application online? Because whenever I try to the site tells me that they don’t have their stuff together or something. Anyone else?

I got an email a few days ago saying:

"We are writing to inform you that the Dartmouth Student Information System will be unavailable due to a system upgrade starting today, November 2nd at 5 p.m. EST through Monday, November 5th at 8 a.m EST.

The “check the status of your application” link will be operational after 8 a.m. on Monday, November 5th.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Sincere regards,

The Dartmouth Admissions Office"

maybe it is still having issues.

Btw I have the interview in a few hours… anybody have advice?? (especially on dress code??)

Oh hey jonezi I just checked my application status; it says that everything is fine for me.

Are you using CommonApp? Did you send anything in by mail?

What!? I’ve been checking everyday and it still hasn’t changed. And yeah, I used CommonApp. I sent in everything early and all through the interwebs.

But what does it say for you once you log on? Does it show all your submitted materials and such?

Once I log on I see:

“We have received all materials necessary to begin the review of your Early Decision application. Should we have any questions or require further materials from you, we will contact you directly via email or telephone. If you have not already done so, please click on the email verification link on the menu page to verify or update your address.”

That’s it. But this morning I got another email saying:

" Next week, you can check your application status here:
<a href="Home | Dartmouth Admissions;

Soooo now I guess that the message stated above doesn’t really describe my application status. Wait until next week before expecting a list of which materials they have received.

That’s what my “Check Your Status” says too, rainbowgazer.

However, how are people already getting interviews?

I think the interviews just depend on whether or not any alumni live nearby and are willing to help out. Don’t worry if you don’t get one… I don’t think it’s a big deal.

Yeah, I recently received an interview email. How’s everyone holding up? Also, did you guys see that thread about a decline in # of ED applicants? Does that excite you guys?

Yes, but I’m a little bit hesitant to get too excited. UPenn saw a decline (albeit much smaller) in ED applicants last year, but admitted less students anyway “to allow for more flexibility in the regular round.” I hope that Dartmouth doesn’t play the same games, but they only won’t if they think less people will apply overall…This reduction in early apps is really unprecedented, no knowing what they might do.

I agree… I think they will accept less.

So nerve-wracking to think about!

I don’t think the decline in ED apps will impact one’s chances. I’m guessing the percent admitted ED will stay the same this year. Yes, they’ll probably accept fewer students ED but only because fewer applied.

Can’t help but wonder if Harvard & Princeton reinstating the EA option last year had something to do with the decline in Dartmouth’s ED apps.

Ohhhh crappp I caught an error on my application!! And I checked it over like a gazillion times!! dang it.

I uploaded my essay twice; under personal statement AND additional information. Total accident. I guess I just saw the upload button and thought I hadn’t done it already… and I WONDERED why my print preview had two copies of my essay. asdfjklalsdjfla
