When will we find out the decision release date? And will it be sent out in an email/posted on the website?

(As I understad it) In the past, Dartmouth sent an email to the ED applicants roughly a week before the decision release date. The email should say what day applicants will hear back on.

Magentaturtule/silvergl8, we should probably make an official thread for results; it’s easier to find as a resource for people in the future, which should ultimately be one of our goals. We should also come up with a list for everyone who pledges to give their results.

Some international applicants are complaining about not having interviews. But I doubt there is really a lack of interviewers as I had an interview with a Dartmouth graduate in Tokyo over skype while I was in New Zealand.

Hiyokomaru - did you apply ED this fall as well?

Hiyokomaru, there simply isn’t enough interviewers for everyone. A lot of domestic applicants (myself included) didn’t get interviews. Not complaining, but it’s just reality. It shouldn’t impact admissions.

"I am an alumni interviewer for Dartmouth. I promise you that getting, or not getting an interview means nothing. Don’t look for hidden meanings. So many alums sign up to interview. Each one is given the name or 1 or 2 kids to interview. BUT, the interviewers are busy, or flakes or both. Even thought the alums said they would love to interview, many drop the ball. It will NOT hurt you if you don’t interview and a great interview doesn’t get you in. The interview is primarily for YOU. The college also likes to keep the alums feeling involved.

Also, I know for a fact that there is no “First Read” When your application is received, your info is sent to the Area director to assign someone to contact you for an interview. This happens automatically, before admissions starts looking at the application."

Hey guys, I’m an international student applying ED this year too! Gluck to everybody out there. hope this time next year we will all be in new hampshire

There is no need to create an official results thread. This one should suffice. Like stated above, everyone that cares is already here. I feel like all of you just want to be the one to create it, ahaha. So, if no one creates one then no one will get upset. Yey.

Truth ^ haha

too late :p

xD sorry, well I made both. So no one has to get upset :P

On a side note, I think D should be able to turn the applications around fairly quickly. Although there was a 5 day delay, ED apps were down by around 13%.

Yeah. Imagine if we got it this Friday! Dreams…

Hey guys. I’ve been following this thread but only now decided to get an account going (I had an account already made… I probably did it in when I was like a freshman and tried to be all college-thinking). Anyway, how are you guys coping with the not knowing when we will hear? I have been super anxious and just freaking out. I checked out the ED pages from last year and the year prior. Both times they heard on friday, which for us would be the 7th. for '15s they heard on the Monday (4 days before) when they would be notified of decisions. For 16s they heard on the Sunday (5 days before). I’m just… freaking out. Like I can’t focus on any schoolwork or any of my other commitments.

Welcome, Pupmedfor17! Yeah, we pretty much all feel the same way. We just all need to hang in there…Only two more weeks! ._.

Do you think we will get e-mailed with the notification date or that it will just randomly show up on our D login page?

Pumpedfor17, I reckon we’ll be emailed with the notification date.

anyone want to volunteer to call and pester the admissions office? hahah

Hey kids!
I applied ED to Dartmouth, too. But I am almost a 100% sure I won’t get in…I have a 1990 SAT and my dad confirmed I was “the dumbest thing he’s ever seen, and he’s seen a lot”, right before he abandoned us…
(Kidding about the dad, true story w SATs.)
I really hope you all get in. You guys seem a lot more hopeful than I am…
