***Dartmouth Class of 2022 RD Applicants Discussion***

best of luck everyone.

@“Maschinenmädchen” I said that your speculation was inconstant because it only seems to apply to YOU. Plenty of people have been contacted and then rejected. Plenty of people (in fact most) never get contacted and are later accepted. Good for you, but stop spreading unconfirmed speculation around when all it is doing is stressing people out a day before decisions!!!

i might bump it up to 8 cookies tonight who knows

@sciencenerd123 Just to clarify, I never said not getting contacted means or correlated with not getting accepted. If fact, the overwhelming majority of people won’t have problem in their FA docs, so won’t be contacted.

It all depends upon the contact, so I don’t agree with your analysis. That is OK. We can agree to disagree.

@“Maschinenmädchen”

“I never said not getting contacted means or correlated with not getting accepted.”

You didn’t, but a lot of people are assuming that’s the case and they are freaking out and feeling discouraged because they have not been contacted. So please keep the speculation to a minimum.

Lets stop speculating <3 only 24hrs before we find out

What did y’all write for your essays?

@sciencenerd123 @biochemgirl99 Please feel free to ignore my posts, but unless I am breaking a rule, you have no right to try to silence people you disagree with.

Good luck guys! 24 hours left. Yikes. (Well, at least 24 hours left for most of us–some of us are all-knowing admissions insiders apparently).

@Harpguy2022 my long essay was a strange combination of skiing, trucks, BLM lands, and Paul Bunyan

@Harpguy2022 I wrote about making short films and I just gave it a quick re-read… yikes L-)

Yo, so if I was deferred ED and I’m also a legacy, are my chances any good of being accepted RD?

Specifically sibling legacy…

@“Maschinenmädchen” I was not silencing anyone or addressing you, don’t get so defensive that was meant for everyone as encouragement

This thread tho ;)) ;)) ;))

Guys, chill tf out.

@sciencenerd123 @“Maschinenmädchen” I am a parent who has been reading your posts through google search. Just created this account to wish good luck to you all! Doesn’t matter where you go, you guys will rock it! Remmeber, a college is just as good as the students in it. So more power and good luck to all of you!!

Hey guys. I made a thread for Ivy Day, so if any of you guys want to check it out and wait it out, here’s the link:

Good luck! :)>-

As a current Dartmouth student, I advise against the speculation and small glitches in the application portal. Only a few hours until you will know anyways. Good luck to all!

@MorePowerToYou
Thank you so much!!! After re-reading all my essays last night over, and over and over again, LOL. I think I will need a lot of well-wishings to get in anywhere else. It doesn’t matter, now that I have received my FA packages and know I can afford any one of my dream schools I got into. I absolutely adore all of them so choosing is its own problem.

For me, this has always been about finding a school that I can afford which I never thought would be possible. So I applied to every school that I could so that I could find the most affordable school. I remember when I ran the Net Price Calculators for UCs and CA State Schools they were entirely unaffordable unless you went into enormous debt. My parents made that mistake and it has been a huge shadow over their lives (their combined student loans are so large, that they can NEVER afford to buy a home at their income level). Of course, I can’t blame them for their choices since they were the first in their families to finish high school (let alone college and grad school) so they had no reference to know it was a mistake. Also, since they both picked themselves out poverty, with no parental support, did they really have a choice? Anyway, I made it my goal to not get myself into that situation and that has been my driving force since. I can say that through a lot of hard work (and a lot of college stalking, lol) it has paid off.

Thank you for sharing your FA story. I am sure that those reading the CC posts on the internet will benefit. Good luck again to you and the rest of group here. Many many ‘from heart’ well wishes to you all!!
