I went ahead and made an ivy decision countdown, don’t know if you’ll want to check it out or not, but it seemed like a fun thing to do. https://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/generic?p0=179&iso=20180328T19&year=2018&month=3&day=28&hour=19&min=0&sec=0&msg=Ivy%20League%20Decisions%20RELEASED
I’m not sure if this has been discussed earlier in the forum (too lazy to scroll through entire thing), but were anyone else’s FA documents downloaded on March 1st randomly? (I submitted mine a couple months ago, and they used to say “Received: Old Date”, yet now say “Received: 3/1/18”).
mine still says the original day (early january)
@dpjcri mine had their date changed to much later (19th)
mine still the same.
mine is still the same hopefully it doesn’t indicate rejection
:-SS
My FAFSA and CSS stayed the same, but my IDOC materials were changed to 3/22… I don’t want to get my hopes up though
Mine were changed on feb 18 after they contacted me
Hey ya’ll we discussed this earlier there’s no correlation between the date changing and acceptance!!! See post #347 please. I feel like this chat is going in circles!!! I know it’s stressful guys, but we have one more day and speculating literally gets you nowhere, and might end up hurting you even more in the end.
@sciencenerd123 Actually, I think me might have decided just the opposite (see post #291)
@22collegegrad That post has to do with FA requests, not dates changing. And that is still all SPECULATION and it is inconsistent.
Speculation is fun
No it’s not
I love Dartmouth
I’mso nervous guys I ate like seven cookies last night
Check the source code of your cookies or see if the expiry date has changed perhaps there is a correlation with acceptance Let’s go guys
XD !!!
omg that’sperfect thank you I needed that right now
@sciencenerd123 Not quite sure what is inconsistent with what I said, please let me know and I will fix it.
As for the speculative nature of what I said, that is true. But economic forecasts and probability functions in civil engineering are also speculative, but they are both still relied upon to make decisions.
There is no question that I have a problem in my FA which must be addressed if I am to be given a FA award. I have been contacted by 3/3 places where I have been given a FINALIZED FA award, before I got my actual results. My Case acceptance did come with an award and I was not contacted, but that award says TENTATIVE. So perhaps they made it accepting all info as is and it will not become FINALIZED until I accept their offer and they verify my info.
Finally, the main point of what I wrote is that there are two kinds of contacts, one type only happens to accepted students and the other is more general. There is absolutely no question that they work in depth only on the files of accepted students. The problem is in figuring out which contact you actually have. A financial aid officer contacting me personally, asking for specific documents to complete my financial aid award is pretty clear. On the opposite side getting an email saying you have not turned in all docs is not predictive. The date change also does not seem to be very predictive. I had a date change and waiver of docs on my Rice application portal, but was waitlisted.
So, one type of contact is indicative of acceptance and the others are not. It is up to the individual to figure out which is which. The way that I was contacted seemed pretty clear And in all cases I was accepted. “Your mileage may vary.”
