@phoenixbaby it seems like there weren’t any this year
you sound like a major d*uche!
@college166177 hey, remember how i said that my financial aid changed for hopkins on 2/22/17 (one month after i submitted it)…well, i got accepted. i know im being paranoid and everyone here told me not to look into at all but that can’t be a coincidence right?
hopefully it means the same dartmouth too!
Confirmation bias, perhaps?
@ninjakiwi @ezbreezy8022 My financial aid status did not change for Johns Hopkins, and I was rejected.
I think that there is some correlation for certain schools.
@ezbreezy8022 I’m kind of confused about what you mean. What does it look like if your financial aid “changed”?
Email from the admissions office:
" We’re writing to let you know we are now in the final stages of our Regular Decision application review process. We will notify you of your decision next week.
Your decision letter will be posted online as follows:
When: After 5:00 p.m. ET on Thursday, March 30
Where: Within the Dartmouth Application Management System
How: Once your letter is posted, we will send you an email to confirm its availability
If you are unable to access your decision online, you may call our office on or after March 31 at (603) 646-2875 to receive your decision over the phone. Please note: Our office will not release a decision over the phone unless specifically requested by the applicant."
At this point I just want to just get it over with and know the decision so that I can stop stressing about it.
@ezbreezy8022 Congratulations, that’s awesome!!! I’m starting to wonder if it’s not a coincidence too… hopefully there’s good news in store for next week!
Can anyone answer my question about what your “changed” financial aid means? What does this look like?
@nmocha567 The dates next to the CSS Finanical Aid Profile and FAFSA are from when they were submitted by you, but then there are about 10 additional documents that are marked as “received” at a later date, if that makes sense.
@college166177 thanks!
@college166177 so what ur basically saying is that if those 10 documents show up then you most likely got in?
Does anyone else have some proof of this?
@college166177 what do those 10 additional documents say exactly? because I only had to submit the CSS Profile as an international
I have the 10 documents too! But I doubt that has anything to do with decision. Do some people have this and others not? Or does everyone have these extra 10?
@ooooooolala not everyone has them
@college166177 Do y’all mean the W2 forms, nonfiler statements, etc…I got about 8 documents total on that checklist thingy but mine showed up at the date I submitted them, aka november. so. if that’s the case I doubt it has to do with admissions.
I do not have those extra 10 documents listed, but I’m OOS (I’m in Florida) so maybe it’s a regional thing that is updated in waves? Hoping this doesn’t mean I’m rejected :-/
@charcoalatey2021 Nah, if it’s the documents I have (I’ve got 8 total on the FA checklist) then it’s completely unrelated to admissions. I uploaded all my FA stuff early, back in october, the lag in dates is just the processing of the financial aid stuff. My stuff was added in november to the checklist, but I applied RD so they wouldn’t have made a decision by then.
