@rishav17. I seriously have no idea what I want do, I mean I could possibly end up doing anything, Not really fixed on a career path yet. What say we all get into Dartmouth first and worry about that later?! Haha :)

Guys, I wanted to know which other colleges you guys are applying to?
Other Ivy schools?

Have any of your guys’s applications been downloaded? I submitted mine about 5 mins after the deadline, so I’m kinda paranoid :(

dartmouth! I visited and fell in love haha

@happy2102 i don’t think they’d be that uptight about it…wait a few days - that’s how long it took for me to get an email with the account info

Hi guys!

Anyone else not submit a peer eval yet?

@basketballer23 - Yup. I guess getting in is more important than what we do after that!! And I applied to Cornell, Columbia, Pton, UPenn, NW, UIUC & Drexel other than Dartmouth. So for me its 5 reaches, 1 match & 1 safety!!
Where else are you applying to? Did you ED anywhere??

@karatekid666 - I submitted my peer eval & arts supplement long ago. But haven’t yet received any sort of confirmation!!

TO all those who submitted after/on the deadline. Wait for a day & go back to your commonapp account. It will either show submitted/downloaded or submitted/not downloaded. If its downloaded, then you should get an email with 2 days. If not downloaded, then wait for another day & call up the admissions office!!

I haven’t sent the peer evaluation in yet, but I got the letter extending the deadline

Urstruly, what letter…?

@karatekid666 - I think she means the email that was sent out to a few prospective applicants stating that for them, Dartmouth has extended its deadline till the 15th of Jan!! :)

But if that is the case (I didn’t get the letter), then the deadline is extended to 15th Jan for all applicants since there is no way in hell that Dartmouth can ascertain which applicants received the letter and who didn’t!! :)

Either way, peer applications are accepted even if they are a week late. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t submit it right away!!

my friend is sending her peer rec by mail to the admissions office so it will probably take a while haha

Hi guys! I am applying regular decision! Dartmouth is my dream school, but it is a reach.

I was accepted to my more realistic first choice about two weeks ago (Boston College), so if I am not accepted to D I will more than likely be going to BC. Good luck to everyone!

@basketballer I applied to 17 schools…crazy, I know. But my top choices are Yale (deferred SCEA), Dartmouth, Wesleyan, and Brown.

Dartmouth received my Trumpet CD/Resume/Music Teacher Rec!

would it be rather unnecessary to send an arts supplement if I wrote a lot about music in my application?

Like, I was ranked first as a Trumpet player in my State for 3 years, in my age group of course. I already explained a lot of my musical experiences, but I was wondering if it was just too much to send additional stuff about music, though music is my main interest.

Hello guys! Seems odd to be posting this question here,but what is dartmouth best known for? Everyone sort of forced me to apply cause they were applying and It didn’t need extra essays too! So I have no idea about dartmouth.
How would you describe the DARTMOUTH EXPERIENCE in 5 words??
(oh and my major is EECS and I am from India)

@ealdi
almost the same situation…i’m at 14
hopefully at least one of my american schools takes me!

@quiverfox
not in 5 words but some interesting things include the D-Plan (quarters, no semesters), the undergraduate focus (only other ivy that really does this is princeton), and the fact that dartmouth has it’s only ski slope haha

@rishav17. I did not ED anywhere, partly because I was not set on my first choice.
I’m applying to a mixture of low tier and top LAC’s along with some Universities. I went for the balanced approach :p

@tlsgur1. Hello. I’d say that’s something you can only decide for yourself. Depends on how much stuff you’ve already sent but if hypothetically if it were upto me, and music was my life passion I would try to sell it as much as possible.

ealdi, I applied to 23!

Has a date been set for decisions?

23!!?!! wow, I thought 10 was loads :’)

Woah 23, 17, 14!! I applied to 7!! And that too Drexel was a free app, where all I needed to do was press “Submit”!! :)

@tlsgur1 - Did Dartmouth confirm that they received your arts supplement?? Or did you just check with the mail service - that it was delivered??
And I think its perfectly fine to send in an arts supplement even if you’ve already talked about it!! :)

@quiverfox - Hey!! I’m from India too!!
One thing you should know about Dartmouth (given that you want to major in EECS) is that they have a four year A.B. degree and a five year B.E. degree (more like a liberal arts college)!! Apart from that Dartmouth’s has one of the best undergraduate environments. But, Ive heard that Hanover is , lets say, not that exciting a town!!

@basketballer23 - Seems a good approach. I just went ahead and applied to all my dream schools!! If I dont get in anywhere, which will most likely happen, then I’ll study somewhere here in India for undergrad!! :)
