Dartmouth College Transfer Applicants 2018

@IndirectProofs I don’t think ive ever been this impatient and excited in my entire life

@IndirectProofs yesterday at my current institution, I had the privilege to meet and talk to Diana Kim, one of Columbia’s head admissions officers and she told me about the transfer process. She said that in Ivy leagues, they don’t have spaces set aside for transfers (which obviously we know). So, she said the reason why there are so few transfers is because transfers only fill in the spots that students leave when they transfer from ivies like Dartmouth, which is few. So in other words, we have to pray that a lot of Dartmouth students transfer out LOL

@indirectproofs I just want decisions too come out already, good or bad :frowning:

I wonder if students can take classes every quarter or do you have to take a quarter off each year?

@kb199977 That makes sense. I wish we knew how many they are going to take this year.

I’m trying not to read anything into this, but I noticed that one of my requirements from my checklist was recently waived on the 20th after I uploaded a statement about why I missed high school.

I’m sure it doesn’t mean anything though.

Well it at least means they are reading my application and not throwing it away

@IndirectProofs meanwhile my application hasn’t changed at all, the admissions office hasn’t responded to my email in almost 3 weeks, and im feeling extremely anxious :frowning: lol

Aww… well, we are here in this together! (HUGS)

I submitted an additional material document, further elaborating on why I want to major in what I want to major in. I hope it even matters at this point since decisions are coming out soon. I think I f’d up  should have sent it earlier.

my application is probably already in the trash at this point lol

I have a ton of additional material, and I feel silly about it now, but the material I uploaded is extremely important.

Yeah, it is late in the game, so I’m not sure how additional material will be viewed. Most of mine was submitted a long time ago, but I did submit a few updates a week ago.

lol what additional material did you submit ?

Well, I meant I feel silly about the amount of additional material I submitted, not about what I submitted. Basically, just some of the math projects I have done over the years.

Thats good! im sure they will enjoy that. I wish I had stuff like that to submit but I definitely will when I apply next year. have you heard from Dartmouth at all?

I received an email, but it wasn’t like glamorous or anything. It just said thanks for emailing us, you can get more info about the timeline on our site kind of a thing.

Well for me, my life for the past several years has been doing independent research in mathematics so I just felt like that was a huge part of who I am.

I do wish we could here back from them more often.

I love how Dartmouth has so many amazing study abroad programs and internship opportunities. thats one of the main reasons why I want to go there! Honestly, I can say ive been waiting and preparing for 4 years to apply to Dartmouth. Dartmouth knows IN DETAIL what I mean by that. I can’t wait to see that admissions decision notification, because regardless of acceptance or rejection, everyone said id never get this far!

That is really amazing @kb199977 I definitely don’t have that great of a story. I’m really glad you did make it this far.

max 2 weeks until decisions! how are you feeling @IndirectProofs ? You ready???

I’m just so worried that my hopes and dreams will be dashed. I’m ready besides that though.
