What state are you from? Low income or first generation? Race?

Oh sorry Im from SC not low income or first gen and im white

bump…

I’d say about a 50/50 shot…just my guess though.

All you give on this thread are stats/ECs…all I can deduce from those is that you are highly accomplished academically, smart, and participate avidly in the world around you. Thats quite a bit, but not enough to create a person! None of what you posted will keep you out… but there is nothing to shove you in–when you (and anyone else for that matter) post chance threads, don’t just post stats/ECs/essays-how “good” your essay is…-elaborate a little. You don’t need to even post a chances thread like that. You can go to the dartmouth website and find, oh! I match up w/ their middle gpa range/scores! That will get them to open up the application… maybe let you past the first “round”… what I’m trying to say is this: If you love Dartmouth, what is it that you have to contribute to the school? How do those ECs/accomplishments demonstrate your intentions once you’re there? With this post, you’re not telling us anything, except that you’re qualified. Great-- you have about a 1/10 shot as I see it. Tell us what you have to offer to the school, and if it sounds convincing-- then I say you have a great chance!

-my apologies for my rant! I hope you take something away from it.

^Bleh.

Stats do matter alot, and yours are excellent. I agree with Slipper… 50/50 shot.

I’d say that you have a better shot than most. The combination of poetry and athletics, with significant achievements in both, is an unusual one, and your stats/rigor/scores are in the right range.

Is there any possibility that you could be recruited for CC?

Lemurlover, I appreciate the post and was wondering how you think I could better communicate the things you said in my post. I hoped that listing my EC’s and my accomplishments in them would show what I would bring to the school because I hope to continue a lot of what I did in high school in college. Is that not what you were asking for? Obviously I cannot post things like recs and essays, where that kind of information would shine through, on this board so i was just wondering how you suggest I can make myself more of, as you said, a “person” on the thread?

As for Consolation. I won’t be able to be recruited to the CC team because I recently injured myself. I was however elected captain despite the fact that I am no longer at the head of the team competitively due to my injury, so I hope that that will say something about my character to the school.

I V and slipper thanks for the chances

bump…

You are right about the essays–what I mean is: post an anecdotal about what drives you, etc., it doesn’t have to be revealing of your true identity or anything. Also, say what you would try to do at the school once you get there… if it’s convincing, and you really advocate for your abilities…then you could probably gain more insightful feedback, instead of, I’d say “average shot”, etc.
