**Dartmouth International Applicant's Thread 2017**

Hi guys !! Thanks for the warm welcome.

@Iboss I found about Dartmouth last summer when my counselor told me to apply … I’m not too enthusiastic about the location, but I like everything else about the school.

@Raith I applied to HYC and some LACs. Got into my safety already though (UMD).

@guyinblue … lol. yh. I think the climate there is a big turn off for Carib people. but, who knows?

@nocknock your score inspires me. lol. I was looking on the ED thread and I mainly saw people with 2100 and more getting in.

@rishav Idk what I want to do after college either. It’s either grad school or some job that deals with foreign languages and foreign affairs.

@nock
Welcome to our family! And a huge CONGRATS for the acceptance… and the strand of you have given a lot of us! haha. What sort of hobbies are you involved in?

@Blue
Definitely will bring some interesting booze to uni… you know, we are at university, it is for learning… so let me be professor and educate the masses on drinking and broaden their horizons ;)

@Rishav
Thanks :smiley: I thought the update needed a bit of a face lift hey! Thought I should go green for it.
Haha, Nock sounds like he will be a very good booze buddy :smiley:
Good luck for the interview, only uni (apart from Steven’s which requires an interview from all internationals) I have been granted an interview for is Princeton… Monday!!

@Nock (again)
I will be calling on you when I go out drinking (well if I get in and go that is) - deal?!

@Boss
I knew about it more from my sister since she did all the university searches like 7-8 years ago for herself. She only applied to Ivy’s and got into all except Harvard where she was waitlisted! (she is a freak though) :stuck_out_tongue:
I actually only considered Dartmouth when one of my friends who graduated a year before me went there (though he went for Ecos). So I looked at their website and really liked what I saw :slight_smile: But yea, the average person I know (South Africa and Mauritius) have no idea about Dartmouth… some barely know of Princeton… all YH!

@Sunny
Gossip girl… really? :stuck_out_tongue:

@Carib
It is a pleasure! :smiley: We (or at least I think we all) enjoy having someone new!
Too cold for you in Dartmouth I am assuming? :stuck_out_tongue:
Nice uni choices (though I don’t particularly like Harvard… didn’t even want to apply xP ). Congrats on the acceptance to your safety (university of Mary Land I assume?) I have a friend there - he says he is loving it!

I really need to stay on at night! -_- I am tired of replying to everyone in one bloody long post!
Bright side… active thread!

@Raith
Yes :smiley: One of them always went on a run with a Dartmouth t-shirt, so when I considered applying to the US, I remembered that and thought it could be a great place for sports :D

@Sunny
hahaha! Nice :stuck_out_tongue: I never really watched it… weird thing is from my boarding house (about 12 guys) I was the only one who didn’t really watch or like it… all the other guys would almost prefer to miss football (soccer) for it…
Apparently the latest season had a good ending/twist to it, or at least I think that is what one of my friend’s told me…

@guyinblue red bull is dangerous man - its main component, taurine (which is also, coincidentally in high concentrations in bull semen), raises your heart rate by 20%, so if you’re working at at a pace of 190 bpm you go up to 209, and depending on your age, that’s heart attack level. I JUST DONT WANT YOU TO DIE :(

lol. Yes Raith. Even though I really want to see the snow, I really don’t want to feel cold for half the school year.

@nocknock congrats on getting in early (:

Quick question; by early write from chicago did you mean you got in ea or you got a likely? I still dont rly get what early writes mean haha sorry

Sent from my SGH-T959P using CC

thanx!! Hope ill be meeting you guys come fall :D

@raith-lol definitely yoo, i’ll take you up on that. As far as hobbies go- football, energy research stuff, robotics design, politics…thats about it. Got mega break down for each but cant bother to get into that lol.

@canadian Its kool, meant I got a likely.

@Carib
I’m sure you’ll be able to work out a plan :)

@Canadian
Welcome back, haven’t seen you online for a while :)

@Nock
Awesome! Another energy researcher :stuck_out_tongue:
By the way, do you have any hooks for these unis?

@caribgurl
I think the snow and coldness is one of the best things. I can’t handle the heat :D

I like it pleasant… neither too hot nor too cold!! :smiley:
Though I don’t mind either if I’m having fun all the same!! :p

@Iboss - Well I guess I heard about Dartmouth from my friend and as soon as I heard him say that engineering’s a 5yr BE course, I dropped it out of my mind!! But then, a few weeks later - I saw that Dartmouth was need blind for Intn’ls!! So I read & re-read the website and have been in love with it ever since!! :p

@nocknock - Hopefully we meet!! … Similar interests though - football, energy…!! :)

Me too @rishav … I like it in between; I don’t like extreme heat.

There is such a big time difference. It’s now 6:50 am here and i’m getting ready for school. I woke up and saw that you guys posted after 2 and after 4 in the morning. What time was it for you guys ?

@Raith an sunny I think i would get used to it in tthe name of a good education. I’m hopeful still. We have to get in first though.

@caribgurl
In Germany it’s 1 pm I am just on my way home from school :smiley:
Have fun at school! :)

@Carib
For me its 4:10pm (at the time of this post)
all the Indians are ahead of me, and Boss and Aus, the rest are behind
At worst you can always get yourself a boyfriend/girlfriend (whatever floats your boat) :stuck_out_tongue: and use the cold as an excuse to cuddle haha

@Sunny
Forgot to ask, how was your french thing on Monday? :slight_smile: (it was Monday right)

Its 6.12pm for me at the time of this post!! :)

This thread is active 24x7 because this is a truly International thread - the only one of it’s kind on CC I guess!! :smiley:
So you sleep for 8 hours… and for all you know, we’ve might have moved from discussing nuclear warfare to Romantic poetry in that time!! :p

@Raith - Haha!! :p

@Rishav
We really are a truly international thread :slight_smile: If only the admissions office would notice us :stuck_out_tongue:
Btw, does anyone know if there is anyway to see who views your threads?

@Raith
Yes it was on Monday. I think it went well (except of the listening comprehension part) :D

I think you can’t see who views your thread.

@Sunny
Good to hear that it went well :slight_smile: well you’ve already said that you aren’t good at the listening :stuck_out_tongue: So I suppose that is kinda ok right :P

Whoa @sunny12
you get back home at one o’clock?!
Man I should have gone to school in Germany! That is sweet!

@Boss
What time do you usually finish?
For us with A Levels we could finish at 10 in the morning up to 5 in the afternoon… it had the same sort of class scheduling as university (only go to class when you have your subject going on) = more subjects, later classes…
And what sort of school system are you doing/done?
