**Dartmouth International Applicant's Thread 2017**

Hey guys :smiley: sorry if I’m kinda out of topic ( can you say that lol ? ) :smiley: But I had the possibility of creating a non profit organization with a high school teacher ( looong story ) to help poor children , do you think that would increase my chances to get into a good college ? Like ec I mean :)

@Keya - No… that was a mistake made by me!!

You need to pipette out Mohr’s salt only!! :slight_smile:
I took KMnO4 the first time by mistake… and then got it in my mouth cause the guy beside me stared at me!! :p

Don’t worry - even the 15ml one - if you get a curved graph - that’s enough!! :D

No I applied regular, though Drexel releases decisions on a rolling basis! :)

I did a bit of Karate too… but stopped just short of brown belt!! :p

@Quiver - Haha!! Where??
So we’ll have a bout if we meet?? :p

@Rishav
Same sort of category… self propelled water craft using paddles? :wink:
Yea I suppose they are about the same category - still very different feeling though :slight_smile: (loads of fun btw)

@Keya
Also did karate :slight_smile: though I ad to stop since my sensei left :confused: I was doing Ryu Ky Kobojitsu and was one test away from black belt (I could have done it, but I moved further away, hadn’t practiced properly for a while… a whole bunch of reasons unfortunately :frowning: ) I kinda miss it…

I don’t miss Karate… It was boring!! I left it in 5th Std. :p

Though I did break a glass plate & tile with my fore head on our sports day once!! The only awesome thing I remember from Karate!! :p

@Penny
I think if you have the chance do it… not just for college, but it is good for yourself (if you are really interested in it). I don’t know if it will increase your chances, but if it makes a difference it might be worth while to mention to the unis.

@Rishav
We never broke anything… for us it was a martial art… ie an art form developed for self defence purposes.
We had sparring sessions though that were fun… but no braking boards or anything like that.

@Penny-- I second what Raith said!! :)

@Rishav --Boxing at Kanteerva :)You??

@Raith - Nah man, I had Karate-do … don’t quite remember what it was about!
Something organised by the United Karate Budokan Club!!

Actually we had sparring sessions in practice!

The breaking of tiles/glass, lying on a board of pins with a bike going over you,etc. was for demonstration of body fitness & stuff on sports days!! :)

@quiver - I did two weeks of boxing in Hyderabad before shifting to blore!! That’s it! :p

kanteerva’s too far away from my house… I’ve been wanting to go but never really made it!! :/

@Rishav
Oh ok, that is why it has the added “aggressive” sort of element (used very loosely in this context mind you). For our demos I was usually the one doing katas (still no idea how to spell that) be it weapon-less or with my bo (staff). I actually feel quite special that I was the only student to get a custom made Bo from Japan made just for me and to fit my height :D

Jawadamin - Hello and welcome man! :smiley:
Nice to meet another rowing enthusiast ;)

Guyssssss, this thread.is.growing.phenomenally.

Since we’re talking of Karate and martial arts. I used to practice Taek-Won-Do. Till 8th grade. It was kinda compulsory. Just some interschool type stuff. Never really found it interesting.

I do wanna try boxing though. Always been a fan :D

Guys… we all have to pick up Muay Thai!! :smiley: That is death :P

I’d rather pick up my iPhone…:)

Raith - I AM INNNN!
:P

Whats new with you guys ? :D

I was kidding…I confess

@Blue
For the Muay Thai… AWESOME :D

Well the me being in a newspaper was just showing all the top A Level results for my group- nothing serious… And turns out I don’t seem so good :confused: a couple of people got 2 As as well and a higher 4th subject… :frowning: hopefully I can still get in to uni with these… I know a chick who got into Pton with I think 1 or 2As and a B…

@Quiver
haha :stuck_out_tongue:
Well it isn’t like iPhones provide much of an exercise… you don’t even push buttons!! :P
