**Dartmouth International Applicant's Thread 2017**

Thank you @Keya and Sunny
those essays are awesome:)!!

Thank you everyone. That really makes me feel a whole lot better during these stressful times :)

Happy Birthday Quiver :D

And that essay is amazing!!! @Keya

@Keya
Never really been into bird watching, but I must admit that that essay did make me feel like I should try it out! Very well written, a little cryptic at first :stuck_out_tongue: but that adds to the overall style of the essay I suppose :slight_smile: Very well done on it!

@Rishav
HAHAHA! I agree that it was better than mine :stuck_out_tongue: And we actually can compare them since they are the same kinda style (or at least descriptive).

@Sunny
Yea I did fly to South Africa yesterday :slight_smile: I have my Princeton Interview on about an hour :smiley:
The internet was weird yesterday, didn’t let me come onto CC! I got scared for a moment there that I might not be back on for a really long time xP

@Raith - How was your Pton interview?? I’m guessing you would be done by now!! :)

And actually, CC got shut down yesterday… So no one could access it!! But it’s back up again!

@Rishav
It went amazingly well I think!! :smiley: Spoke for about 1hr15mins!! xP
Apart from talking about what I’d like to do etc… we spoke about South Africa, Politics, CC xP, “The American Dream”… All sorts of fun stuff. He joked that he can barely swim… i.e. float and tread slightly… but not move forward haha. I asked about his Pton Experience - very different to my sister’s and what I think mine will be like.
He wrote down a couple of things… made him realise that the CIE A Levels Further Maths was the first time anyone in South Africa has ever sat the exam - which he then followed to write something down :smiley:
I think it will come back as a really great report! Not sure if it is normal, but he asked me to let him know if I get in/what happens in terms of my university acceptances and choices, and has asked me to send him an email if I feel like I would like to ask him some other questions about Pton etc.

:D :smiley: :smiley:
Pretty happy right now - this is all sent from an iStore cause I couldn’t wait to get back and answer later today xP
Plus I am waiting for my dad to fetch me :P

Oh ok - I couldn’t get on and thought that it was cause the hotel’s firewall was blocking it or something! haha - so I clearly didn’t miss much.

@Raith
Wow, your interview sounds really great and seems like you made a really good impression :slight_smile:
Is Princeton now your first choice? Go Tigers!? :D

@Raith…so another tick on the app huh ???:)

And thank you Lemming …:)

Alum interviewers in general are awesome. They really cheer you on and want you to get accepted. That’s the impression I had anyway!

Thanks @Raith and @Lemming ! :D

My Princeton interview was not so good (in mid-January) compared to my only other interview (Smith) . Not only was my interviewer in a hurry, but he was also quite impassive (bordering on uninterested).
On that note, I realise that Raith is very very lucky to have been able to converse so freely! Congratulations and all the best!

I’m not sure if this link is allowed, but check out my bird-photography portfolio and comment please? [Welcome to my Bird Photography Portfolio](http://meghadeepa.co.nr/)

@keya
The photos are beautiful. Where do you find these birds? :slight_smile:
The one with the big red beak and blue wing looks really sweet (I don’t know the name of the bird, sorry) :D

@Raith - Great!! :smiley:
I have no idea when my interviewer will contact me! I’ve been waiting for over a month now - after the initial email from Pton admission office!

I agree with @Iboss - most interviewers are actually more than willing to help you out & are not going to shun you or anything. I’ve just had one interview - UPenn, the guy was just 6 years elder to me, passed out 2 years ago!! He too wrote down quite a few things… but I guess it was more to serve his memory, since he was conducting 5 interviews in a row!! :slight_smile:

@Keya - That’s odd & probably unlucky on your part. But then again, remember - an interview can’t hurt you much unless you manage to **** off the interviewer!! :p

And I would love to see your photographs, but just that the page is too slow & my net is quite bad… :p

Anyway, now we know your name!! :)

@Sunny
Thanks :slight_smile: well Pton has been amongst my top! I’d honestly love to be a Tiger, and I feel like I would fit right in :smiley:

@Quiver
Lets hope it pushes my application over into the yes pile! :smiley: If not… well lets just say I definitely want to be accepted to Dartmouth, though I still don’t really know which university I definitely want to attend… to many pros and too few cons for each of them xP

@Boss
Well I read about a lot of people’s interviews going very well, so it might just be part of that. But hey, no major harm in being hopeful right? :P

@Keya
Thanks, going to have a look at your photos now - I have recently started underwater photography with my diving - I’ve had a couple really great photos but I need to find the appropriate lighting for down there to bring out the colours :/

@Rishav
Thanks bro - hoping for the best :smiley:
And remember that the email from Pton is essentially as an email saying that they have given your name to an alum, not that the alum has accepted or found the time to interview you - well that is the impression I received. I am however crossing fingers for you to get it and have a great one! :D

@Keya
I have really enjoyed looking through your photos! Very well done!
What camera have you been using?

@Keya - Just saw your pics! Lovely!! You did send an arts supplement to Dartmouth & others, didn’t you?? Then you certainly have a good chance!!

I’ve photographed some birds too! Mostly water birds and nowhere close to your pics!! :)

@Raith - Well, I wrote a mail to the Pton admission office & was directed to the Pton Alumni Committee who replied back that the said alum had upto feb end to contact me & set up an interview!! So I’m still waiting, hoping to get one soon!! :)

@Rishav
Oh ok, well then I hope for you that you get contacted! :)

@Rishav…my friend here has his interview this sunday…so hold your breath:)

@quiver, my friend had his this Saturday. I checked, everyone gets a different alum!! So there’s no saying who will be contacted when!! :)

Haha…so many of them here:) A pleasant surprise… and that too the only ivy that I liked…but didn’t apply to…You gotta be kidding me :)

Best of luck to your friends too! :)
