**Dartmouth International Applicant's Thread 2017**

@Raith - Our final reports are received only after the decisions!! Which means… it really doesn’t matter!!
Anyway - all the top applicants would’ve done well!! :)

And thanks!!

Actually even Drexel is too damn costly!! 60k USD per year(with living,etc.)!! These pvt. universities make a killing out of it!!

@Rishav
Yea, I think they are about the same cost!
The letter I received said that it was still conditional on my performance on the rest of my academic pursuits - I suppose they didn’t realise I was out of uni? haha weird…

I still think you will get a lot of acceptances… and hopefully most will come with aid

hey guys…(especially Raith) Nice to see this thread alive and kicking…though I may have to go off this thread if D doesn’t respond soon…But until then…:D

@Rishav…So they screwed the **** out of you guys in Math…but don’t these count for our Mains exam???Wonder how they are going to normalize this then…
Oh and Hi Krishna!!Nice to see another Indian…(especially a Bangalorean)…All the best to you!!:slight_smile:
@Raith …looks like some spare time to have a bit of fun right!!!:wink:
Boards start on 1st…with English…lol…Not going to hit my books till tomorrow morning!!

@Quiver
Hey, I am trying :wink: Actually had to ride my bike to the phone store 3 times cause the first 2 I forgot my ID number haha… so now I have a 3G internet dongle (kinda more so I can skype this one girl… amazing what good motivation they are hey) :D

Well that will be for Friday night hopefully - one of the pubs here maybe :wink: Otherwise said girl’s birthday party in March :P

Haha, I assume English isn’t much of a worry for you then? :P

@Raith - Haha!! :stuck_out_tongue:

And I think Quiver has CBSE English - which is quite easy!! :)

@Quiver - It does count for JEE. Maths didn’t **** as such - just that most will probably get 3-4 marks below their expectations!!

Nah…only for my parents and teachers…
Oh and Guys I got selected for Robogames 2013…supposed to be the Intl robotics olympiad…and I am the only high school senior…the min. qualifications to compete(if you aren’t me;)) is is 2years in Engineering from college…yay :D

@Quiver
Well done! I’d love to take part in one of those competitions :stuck_out_tongue: And now with what I have been learning I feel I finally can help xP haha

@Raith
Congrats! :slight_smile: I think you will get accepted to other universities too but at least you end up somewhere and can transfer! :smiley:

@krishna
Welcome :)

Btw, how much will a bad recommendation hurt? :/

Hello people! Though i am quite late to be joining this thread now, but here is another Indian applicant from Kolkata! :P

@Sunny
Thanks, I really do hope so! :D

I think recs are very important… I don’t know how much a bad rec would hurt, but I’m sure not enough to really throw your chances away

@Saharsh
Welcome welcome! :slight_smile: We really are getting loads of Indians aren’t we :P

What is your intended area of study and do you have any ECs that you do a lot and have fun with? :)

@Raith
Thanks, that’s disappointing that they are very important :/

So, I think March 28 or April 1 (decision day) is going to be a really disappointing day for me. At least it’s eastern and I will have a lot of chocolate :smiley:

@quiver
Congrats! Any chance to see your robot somewhere on the internet? :)

@Sunny
I think it does depend on the university though, hopefully not important enough that you don’t get acceptances and financial aid :)

Chocolate is good! ;)

@quiver - WOah!! Congrats!!

@Sunny - A bad rec?? It actually might hurt you ~ depends on the university & what the letter actually says!
But 2 questions - How do you know the rec was bad?? And if you knew it was going to be bad, you couldn’t you have gotten one from someone else??

BTW… I LOVE CHOCOLATE!! :D

Sunny… once you are part of the Indian team…you build a robot on spot for the competition and compete against other’ robots…More or less like Real steel(watched it today afternoon…)

Oh and thanks guys…I am soo gonna love this(hope the adcoms do too!!;))

@quiver - I watched real steel this afternoon too!! :D

And I just looked up the website - It looks like anyone(above the age limit) can register!! :O

I was just stirring the pot. So, which frat are you thinking of pledging?

@perrazziman - Ahh!

Right now my mind hasn’t really gone past thinking about the decisions!! If & when I get accepted, other thoughts will follow!! :p

But mostly I don’t think I’ll join a frat… cause from what I’ve heard - you can have a colorful social life, even without joining a frat!! :D

@Raith - OMG Yaayy Congratsss :smiley: Youre going to Uni hahahahah :P

Thank god Ive got a gap year, seeing you guys fret over the boards and the decisions makes me feel Im lucky I didnt have to manage the two! :)

Also, this post seems to have been hijacked by us Indians haha.

Welcome Krishna! :slight_smile: Youre pretty competitive man, Im sure youll end up with loads of acceptances.

@Rishav
Aww come on, no frat?! :stuck_out_tongue: If we both get in and go we have to ok? haha. Nah, obviously frats don’t control every aspect of social life - I still think it adds to it though :P

@Blue
Haha thanks bro - it is quite a relief. I also agree with how you feel about not having to juggle the two.
