@Krishna
Welcome to the thread!! Congrats on all the competition stats, but what do you do in your spare time for the fun of it? Like we have a couple soccer players, swimmers, photographers amongst a lot of other interesting activities - is there anything that you enjoy doing regardless of competitions? :)

Congrats on the acceptances, and best of luck with getting into your top choices! :)

@every one else
Finally got internet at home, so hopefully we can bring this thread right back to life - even though we are probably still the most active thread on the Dartmouth page :P

All the Indians are studying for their boards but they come to CC daily:p
I am a gap year student–no boards:D Now-a-days I have beeeeeen doing only one thing–prepping for JEE.

This anxiety isn’t allowing me to study properly. I am opening books but dreaming my acceptances:p

I finished school in South Africa, we finish our schooling in November/December… and therefore I finished my A Levels there and am free to do things till university. Otherwise I would have had to miss my last term and therefore miss my A Level exams to enter in 2012

Just received a letter from my safety - Steven’s Institute of Technology:

I am excited to be the first to congratulate you upon your admission to Stevens Institute of Technology for the fall of 2013! Along with your admission decision you have also been selected into our Scholars program! All the information, including scholarship and deposit information is enclosed with this email. Should you have any questions about any of the attachments, always feel free to contact me.

Congratulations Brother. I am very happy.
You deserve many more good decisions ahead.

@hopingforbetter

I am interested in Computer Science as well as in Cognitive Science.
Regarding Austin, I applied for Turing scholar in CS and regular admission in
EE. Both I got it. I will do cs only.
Reg DPS, yes to some extent. But I fee the evening classes at FIITJEE helped me a lot.l
But Oakridgians are also going US in good number.
Presently I am in Bangalore.
What about you We will meet in Hyderabad when I come next.
Thank you friend,

@Raith - Congrats bro!!
So you won’t be taking another gap year after all!! Haha!! :D

And I kind of screwed my Math paper!! :/

@Krishna - Welcome & Woahh!! Btw, are you in Hyderabad or in Bangalore??
Did you attend HMUN in Hyderabad??

Anyway - Basically this thread is all about spending time talking about our “love” for Dartmouth & about other universities & about life till the decisions in general!! :p

@Krishna
Thanks loads hey, hoping for a lot more come April :D

@Rishav
Thanks bro! It is quite a relief! Especially with the scholarship and Scholars program I just wish I could give the Scholarship to someone else who needs it more :/

@Rishav
Yea, but I really don’t need the scholarship… and it is A LOT of money… at the very least it could really help you or some of the other people applying for aid

Well that is a shame Hopefully a lot more people screwed up too hey haha (well if there is a curve of sorts…)

I am in Bangalore. rishav, I like your writings in
CC. More like a fan of you in cc.
I attended HMUN Hyderabad.
I applied to
MIT, Princeton, Columbia, Amherst, Dartmouth and other 6 more.
I was interviewed by Cambridge in London but I was pooled first and later
denied. Got Imperial, UCL, Bristol & Southampton in UK.
I don’t want to go to UK. Most probably I may go
either to UT Austin or UIUC.
Let us see what happens in March.
Good luck my friend rishav.

@Raith - Actually many did. The paper was damn lengthy, especially when compared to the standard for the past few years!!
Curving is very rare in India!!

Well it shows that Steven’s thinks you to be a top applicant to their school and want you to consider them as you’d be getting a free? 4 yr education!! :D

@Rishav
Well then lets hope that reduces the competitiveness of the Indian applicants xP Good luck for tomorrow as well :)

Well its not free… they are more expensive than the Ivy’s… so it is now I think just less than that of the Ivy’s… but imagine if I could use it and give it to some other student applying to them?
