**Dartmouth International Applicant's Thread 2017**

@Lemming
Hope this is a really good sign for you bro! It definitely can’t be a bad sign :P

I got some email from UPenn asking which sort of engineering I would like to go into as my 2nd choice to their program (VIPER)… Not necessarily I’m out of the running for the program as the program involves engineering too… but I doubt it means that I will be considered for VIPER xP C"est la vie :P

Maybe they have a limit on international students, so they want to see if you’re willing to go even if you don’t get your favourite course…

I don’t think they do have a limit in International students (not for the course). It is the second year they are doing it, they only accept 24 people from the whole world, I think it is an open competition pretty much :P

Wow. 24 in the world!!! That’s tough… good luck!! :slight_smile:
I doubt being contacted at this point is a bad thing…

Haha yea, to be honest I didn’t think I was going to be accepted to the program… but it definitely isn’t too bad being contacted at this point… especially since I gave her the update including my work experience.
She did say that it was very helpful though :stuck_out_tongue: and that it was a pleasure reviewing my application… but I still think it will be there single degree :P

@Raith - I would take the single degree with open hands!! Haha!! :p

@Rishav
Haha, it is a top university… but the dual degree is the only real thing that attracts me to it - I almost think I’d take Steven’s over UPenn unless they offered an equally good set up… I don’t feel like I am too happy with where it is situated exactly…

@Raith - Ohh, actually Penn’s location suits me best (less cold :stuck_out_tongue: ). The town/surrounding areas has safety issues but the campus itself is safe!! :D

You can always do a major/minor or a separate dual major in those two fields. I didn’t apply to the VIPER program(even though my interests align with it) because I knew it was super selective and I also reasoned that I could achieve a similar kind of experience/degree through a dual major or major/minor. :D

@Rishav
True true; but the dual degree was a big part, not just dual major… and then the third component involving the sustainable development just pulled everything perfectly together for me!

^ Yeah true.

Just saying that I’d take Penn even if I didn’t get into VIPER, just because it still is GREAT!! Haha!! :D

Yea I know what you meant :stuck_out_tongue: I might, we will have to see how things turn out hey :P

The countdown is killing me too guys!! I just want to know where i’m going!! The only thoughts running through my mind at this point is 'Where will I be in September?" … The wait is just so nail-biting. It will be worth it i the end though.

@PO … Po does sound better for real doe.

@caribgurl - So true. Both about September & PO!! :D

I don’t want to know about the decisions because I think they will turn out to be really disappointing news at least for me. :D

@Carib
I agree entirely! Get all this over and done with! But it still feels good knowing that I am going to university (as well as the few on here who have also been accepted to some safeties)

I feel PO is easier (and shorter) than Paddy :P

@Sunny
Shame :stuck_out_tongue: you’ll get a couple good decisions I am sure, at worst you have to take a gap year or go to a German university :P

@Raith
I think I will prefer the gap year over a German university but I have no idea what I should do one year that seems so long :D

@Sunny
I am sure you will work out what to do :stuck_out_tongue: maybe you can do some research or something… try show them that you are prepared to work at what you think you’d like to do regardless of what their decision is! :)

@Raith
Thanks :)

Haha okay guys, call me PO henceforth then :P

25 days! 10 char
