Dartmouth RD 2025

Anyone have any ideas about the waitlist at top colleges this year?
I know that Dartmouth has had streaks in the past where they never admitted anyone off the waitlist over a number of application years.

I am curious to hear your thoughts.

McGill is an excellent school

Daughter accepted at Dartmouth
Waitlisted at Brown

Has narrowed down her choices to Southern Methodist with a full ride - tuition and room and board, Emory (but only if she can get her cost down), and Dartmouth - which has come in surprisingly affordable.

Yes it does have a reputation as a good school. I know some very smart kids that have gone there. Mostly because they like the school and Montreal and the cost was much less for them than a US university.

I am from Maine and live in Massachusetts so not that far away from us.

As a mom, I just want to give a big hug to all the seniors this year. I just wish for you all to acknowledge the fact that you’ve been through an extremely tough process and you all deserve to be proud of who you are, regardless of your accomplishments or if you were accepted to “the top colleges.” I truly hope that you can let all this go for a while and enjoy the rest of your senior year, your friends and your fabulous future. Go out there and make the most of your opportunities and be damn proud of who you are inside and out!!! You’re done with all this junk!! Be free!!! Have fun!

I’m late but I got in after getting deferred ED! I’m still in shock and super conflicted now but congrats to everyone  super weird too because Dartmouth was the very last college decision I had to open after getting rejected from yale and waitlisted from Cornell and I did it while I was hiking which was a funny coincidence

Just want to pop in to say that the college admissions system is absolutely wild, especially this year.
Rejected - Bowdoin (9%)
Waitlisted - Vassar (24%), Bryn Mawr (33%), Hamilton (16%), Wesleyan (16%)
Accepted - Smith (32%), Mount Holyoke (38%), and DARTMOUTH (7%).
Dartmouth definitely came as a shock, seeing as I didn’t submit test scores or a peer recommendation—though I did have a letter from an alum I’ve worked with, and a good interview. Also, prior to the decisions being released, many of the documents on my FA portal showed an update of being accessed/downloaded on 3/26. So, future applicants, I am here to lend credence to the FA portal update theory.
