Dartmouth RD 2025

My daughter DID NOT get an interview and was accepted RD (she’s a 21). My son DID get an interview and was deferred ED. He hopes to be a 25.

From my end as an interviewer, it seems like interviews make very little difference. I will say that in one case (only one out of all the interviews I did) I received emails from the admissions office pushing me to submit that student’s interview report sooner. The email said “The admissions office would especially love to hear your thoughts on [applicant name]” and was like submit the report as soon as you can. And then I didn’t submit the report as quickly as they would’ve liked (oops), and they bumped. So they seemed interested! That person may have been on the borderline or there may have been certain questions they wanted answered. I don’t know!! But generally I’d say it makes little to no difference unless you bomb. Interviewers do have to make a direct recommendation on whether or not to admit you, so I imagine that if it’s bad enough that an interviewer has to say don’t admit this person, the admissions office would see that as a red flag. Hope this is helpful!

Hey can someone help me out here? I want to email Dartmouth and let them know that they are my top choice (basically will be making a verbal commitment should I be accepted), but I’m not sure what email to send it to. Does anyone know the best email address to send admissions reps admissions material? Thanks

probably wouldn’t matter regardless as it is too late but feel free: reply@dartmouth.edu

My college counselor advised me to do so, so just following intruction year. I think its too late also but I guess she knows more than I.

Has anyone noticed a date change in their financial aid portal? All of our docs had the date uploaded, or thereabouts, from IDOC. The dates recently changed to 3/26

Is the documents upload date myth actually true? It looks like it is ;-;

No change for me

Did anyone receive an email today letting them know decisions will come out after 7:00pm EST on 4/6 and to confirm to use the credentials that were sent when applied to test access to their portal by logging in before Tuesday?

Yes

Thanks. I haven’t received an email similar to this before. Good luck to everyone on Tuesday.

What I’ve seen from past threads, people who receive FA email or get their portals updated usually get in. But not getting the email or the update does not mean you won’t get in. Some people get accepted without any FA portal update.

How is the portal updated? Meaning what is the change?

Rejected for sure. Didn’t receive any FA emails or get a request for a signed tax return form. Good luck to you guys on Tuesday!

Everyone stop. @skieurope has said multiple times, on this thread even, that aside from likely letters, there are no tea leaves to read. Just because you got an email or didn’t or got a portal update or didn’t doesn’t mean anything!! 4 more days, we can do it!!

Yes

Hey, just wanted to comment and let you know that I felt the same thing earlier in the month when I never got any FA emails from Georgetown. Forums were saying that this was an indication of acceptance and it gave me anxiety. But to my surprise, I was accepted. You should definitely take 80% of what is said on College Confidential with a grain of salt. Everyone is just as nervous as you are and is trying to find even the slightest bit of resolve to their stress. Stay optimistic!

Does anyone else have this form recently added to the financial aid section under “Federal Verification Form”? Could it mean something?

This is something that is flagged by FAFSA and not the school. They flag a preset percentage of applications. It doesn’t anything as it is not specific to the college per se.

I am curious to know whether or not everyone got the email regarding access to your portal?
