Dartmouth SkiWay

Has anyone been? This unique aspect of Dartmouth makes the school pretty much twice as awesome in my mind, so I was wondering what kinds of terrain the park has and the general breakdown of skiers/snowboarders, because I get the feeling the park is dominated by skiers.

The Dartmouth skiway has a webcam that you might find interesting:

<a href="http://www.dartmouth.edu/%7Eskiway/%5B/url%5D">www.dartmouth.edu/~skiway/</a></p>

Yeah, the website will show you the breakdown of what kinds of trails and terrain they have. Otherwise, there are a large number of people that snowboard as well as those who ski.

cool cool...are there any student discounts for lift tickets?

yes there are. a season pass is $150 for students, which is a pretty high discount. i forget how much single day passes are, but theyre not much ($15-25 maybe?). theres also discounted rates at many other nearby mountains for dartmouth students.

hi, i was actually just there sunday for a ski race. i've been there at least once a year for the past ten years for ski races so i know a tiny bit about it. the lodge is wicked nice! gorgeous. the trails are on both sides of the road so you have to hike across the road to get to some trails. all the times i have been there it has been dominated by skiers but then again i was there when ski races where happening. overall its a nice little mountain don't expect anything huge because it is not but it does have great trails which i've always enjoyed free skiing on and the GS trail is especially intense.

The GS hill is pretty sweet, it's been regraded and widened a bit for this year so it got re-approved by FIS, it should open tomorrow or Thursday. Sweetness.
