Hey guys, I am transfering to Dartmouth from Canada. First year student applying for entrance in sophomore year in the school of arts and science. How about you guys?

I'm applying to Dartmouth as a transfer, school of arts and sciences...I should be so lucky to get in.

ditto here. i really hope i find out before school ends out here. gotta know what to do with my stuff at the end of the year.

i applied too...i really want to get in but its going to be tough...

tough competition, iplayoboe is from Macalester, what about the rest of you guys?

Loyola Marymount University in LA. I'm not sure where that puts me for competition.

hey Ella, i am from Canada, may i ask why dartmouth? I am applying because i thikn it's a much different school compare to where i go to school now :D. and it's not in the "city" :D

saw your past posts by the way, which school is at the top of the list? since you are applying to so many schools. I very much love my current school, so i thought Dmouth was the only one that could top it. that's why i am applying there. what about you?

Well, Dartmouth is at the top of my list, actually. However, it's a BIG reach for me, so it's more like a pipe dream than my number 1 pick.

There are really a lot of reasons why dartmouth (we did have to write a whole essay =D). My sister went there and she said it was the best, most productive, most fun 4 years of her life. I visited her while she was attending; there's a real sense of community on campus. Everyone seemed so intelligent and well-rounded. Also, I've realized I want to be in a more rural location where people don't leave campus every weekend. I've talked to the crew coach, and the team sounds like it has amazing potential. My current college is in the middle of Los Angeles, not much community, and I'm not really an LA kind of girl. I don't own a juicy suit, have a boob job, or wear ten lbs of make up. I went here for the film school, and realized I like biochemistry.

What college do you go to in Canada? Maybe I should add it to my list =D Are you already admitted as a transfer? I saw that you posted on the RD decision thread in the Dartmouth forum.

I am a second year from University of California, San Diego applying for transfer....I too will be lucky to get in...Fingers crossed!!!!

I'm a freshman at university of hawaii. I went there on a full ride and decided the free money isn't worth the inferior program. I'm an english major and its a fairly weak department here. Id love to go to dartmouth... its a bit of a reach though

Ella123,

Do you go to USC?

SoCal, I go to LMU. So, I guess "center of LA" is not quite accurate; but it sure feels like it. Do you go to school around here too?

Hey Ella,

I go to Pepperdine. I know some people that go to LMU though. I too am relatively unhappy with my university, but will likely be headed back there.

Good Luck with Dartmouth; I've always said if I could go to an Ivy, it would be Dartmouth. Probably because the name sounds awesome.

I was going to apply to Dartmouth because I have a friend there and he raves about it so much..
but the Quarter system turned me off :(.

quarter system is tough ****. midterms every week in either one class or the other, and if its not a midterm, its a project. phew. its invigorating though, it gives you less motivation to slack off

I think it was fine and actually the quarter system is a benefit for transfers. It means you can still go on a study abroad with less impact on major/ social scene + sophomore summer you meet your class.

^^ totally agree, looks like I am the only Intl. :D (I HOPE I AM LOL)
yeah, Dartmouth is awesome, talked to some students and they were really cool :D

Unfortunately I am an international too....damn I have competition...lol
Hope we both get in!!!!

hope we ALL get in ;)

hope we ALL get in

don't we all? but we know that's not going to happen
pepsicokevodka, where you from?
By the way, i think Dmouth only took like 36 transfers last year :(
