Dates of earliest notifications?

<p>I am wondering the date when the potential semi-finalists will learn of their fates.</p>

<p>Judging by last year's posts, it looks like the first semi-finalists were posting around August 22nd. There is also speculation that colleges know semi-finalists before the schools. Anyone with an opinion or experience care to fuel these speculations or refute them? Good luck to everyone.</p>

<p>^ Is that true? I’ve been waiting to know too, apparently early Sept is what I heard. And I’m on the borderline too :O</p>

<p>To me, it looked like last year the schools were notified about their semifinalists on the fourth Monday of August.</p>

<p>The media embargo date is mid Sept, however, schools get the info before that and they’re free to tell their students. </p>

<p>My son found out (years ago) sometime in late Aug. However, the day he found out, there was a college letter in the mail congratulating him and offering him a NMF scholarship…so colleges must know early as well.</p>

<p>Post # 41 in that thread (Friday August 24th) was the first confirmation of a notification. We are getting close ladies & gentlemen :)</p>

<p>Based on the last few years of reports on CC … NMSF lists should be mailed to the schools on Tuesday, August 20. In general, people started to post that they heard from their school on the Friday after letters went out. Of course, they changed a lot of things about the way they report data and notify people this year, so no guarantees. Their dates and deadlines page just says the notifications are mailed to principals in late August.</p>

<p>I just spoke with the Corporation’s Public Information Office, which informed me that the letters will be sent to the high schools on August 27. The Press Release date is Sept. 11.</p>
