I'm a bit new here, so I'm so sorry if this is not an appropriate venue for this question, but this is about high school, and I saw the thread about dating, so I thought maybe it would be okay and not taboo or something.

So my brother has been dating his current girlfriend for over four years and they are both now in college.
I am in school with her younger brother, and I really like him, and he might like me, too.
However, there are multiple problems.
1. He is younger than me and this could be a possible maturity issue
2. Our families might think this is too weird
My other brother has commented on how cute it would be, but my brother and his gf have said that would be weird...
I suppose I don't need their approval, per say, but I don't want it to be too weird....
What do you think?
Again, I am SO SORRY if this is not the kind of place for questions like this, but I didn't know who else to ask...I'm too embarrassed to tell my friends (they know both families involved).

I know that it isn’t incest or anything, but how do you think your family would react if they were in the same situation?
Also, what do you think about him being a year younger? Could this be an issue?
Thank you for the quick replies <3

I don’t think its weird. There are cases of identical twins marrying identical twins - (now that is slightly weird, but still not creepy or anything.)

My family doesn’t allow me to date anyone - but if I were allowed to date and I was in this situation, I don’t think my parents would have any qualms about it.

I’m an only child, so they’d be very surprised. :)

Depends on him. I mean, if he’s so immature that you wouldn’t be able to date without problems, then he’d probably be that way even if you were the same age. A year isn’t a very big difference.

I’m mostly worried about the approval of my brother’s girlfriend, to be honest. My siblings would get over themselves, but she’s such a major role model for me and I really want her to like me. I would love her for a sister, and I don’t want to mess up our relationship.
Thank you all so much.
