Dating: Does it exist?

I know this is seems like something a pimply, horny, middle school boy would ask, but I have heard very little about this aspect of WP. What is it like to try and maintain a relationship at USMA? Dating ranks last on my list of priorities, but I thought it would be interesting to hear the story from a cadet perspective.

Dating, or cadating as it is sometimes called does exist here at the academy. During Beast it is obviously not allowed, nor is there time for it. Then from ADay until the end of Buckner plebes may only date plebes. After the start of the yearling academic year (promotion to Corporal) the upper 3 classes can date. There are a fair number of cadet couples. Some people discourage it, but most don't have any problem with it. I know 2 firstie couples that are getting married right after graduation so it can work.

WESTPOINTCDT - as a side note, I really enjoy your website! I watched your IOCT video yesterday. Too funny.

Envee, while I was at WP I was told that a lot of the guys have girls back home (plebe year at least) and a lot of the girls tend to date cadets. Not sure how accurate that is though. WESTPOINTCDT-I also enjoy your website a lot! Its a great insight into USMA, so thanks!

There are a LOT of girls dating other Cadets. I have a boyfriend in the Army, but he's not here. I've managed to stay in the 2% Club this far; still have 3.25 years to go. It's gonna be tough when he's in Iraq...
