Dating in college

Hey guys, Im going to be a freshman next year at a big southern school (ECU). I havent had a girlfriend in like a yearish, and am waiting to find somebody in the fall. Just trying to get a feel on whether its a good idea or not to date as a freshman, especially being OOS. Thanks and I appreciate all responses

I’m the same age as you. I heard from my older friends try not to have a girlfriend in the first semester.

I waited until the summer after freshman year, but mainly because I prefer to know a guy pretty well before I start dating him.

I’m currently with someone and couldn’t be happier. We were both Freshmen this past year. It’s totally possible to balance a relationship, friendships and school work. And yeah, we’re both at home in our respective states now, but if you’re willing to go long distance for just a couple months, it’s really worth it.
Relationships in college are great- so much more so than in High School- as long as you realize that you’ll have to do some maneuvering to take care of all your responsibilities and have time with your boyfriend/girlfriend.

I’m still with my girlfriend from the first week of college now, 4 years later and a week from graduation, with plans to move in together next year. So it can be a good idea. But that’s not something that is to be expected or sought.
