Daughter Accepted as Transfer Student Looking for Resources

Hello my nineteen-year-old daughter was just accepted as a transfer student. she is going to be moving from southern California to Maryland. None of us know a soul in Maryland or close by. So I am looking for any type of parents group or newbies group or just a list of resources. I don’t think she will use the school as a resource because she has already had a pretty bad experience with the admissions process. I’m just going to open this thread and see where it leads and of course monitor the forum in general for more information. Thanks in advance from a mother who is pretty worried about sending her daughter across the country alone!

@mida68 Hey there. Yes I understand it can be scary to send your child across the country. But still, I do not see any problem, and do not see a need for special resources… Our son, who is 15, flew alone form BWI (the closest to UM airport, if you do not count Reagan) to Oakland, and Ubered to UC Berkeley, where he got into his dorm and set his room to his liking (last August), and then proceeded with his Fall 2018 semester. He didn’t need to know anyone or relay on anything more that airport services and an Uber app in his phone. I am sure your daughter (4 years older) will be able to do the same and enjoy her life here in Maryland. Just make sure she has or will buy warm cloths…
