no longer a Davidson hopeful I just got notice yesterday that I’m not in the running for the Belk, and I really needed a scholarship to attend. I so disappointed - I loved Davidson and thought I would have a good chance at a merit scholarship.

Sorry to hear that What about need-based aid??

I think I will qualify for probably 5-10k in need based but that isn’t enough. I have applied for lots of outside scholarships so maybe those will come through. It just doesn’t make sense to pay 40k per year for undergraduate when I can go to my state school for free and save money for grad school.

Good luck to you though! I hope you get great news on April 1st :)

yeah, I’m out of the running for Belk, too…bummer, but it was less than a 1% chance of getting the scholarship anyway. I’m holding out to hear if I get in, and, if so, possibly get other merit aid…

we’ll see! (:

What an unhappy coincidence…I’m out of the running for Belk, too. Disappointed, but oh well. Hopefully there’ll be another merit scholarship for me. I applied for the Pepper Art Scholarship and I’d like to think I have a better shot at that than the Belk. Waiting till March!

So the other day I had the phone interview for the belk. I have no clue how it went. Anyone else interview?

Bump. Still looking for other belk semi finalists. This thread gets no traffic.

cece: You might want to try starting a new thread with Belk in the title.

Ahh relieved to find other applicants to Davidson. To be completely honest I applied to davidson on a whim. But ironically, it is really moving up my list of choices! So hope I get in and hope to see you guys there. Good luck to you guys and your college decisions…ugh april cannot come soon enough! :)

Good luck to you too! I’m getting more and more nervous/excited as the days pass…it’s so close yet so far away!!! 38 more days til April 1! I have a dance convention that day too so hopefully I get good news AND dance well… :)

I’m still not sure whether it would suck worse to be rejected from Davidson, or to be accepted and not get enough aid to be able to go.

^I feel the exact same way. I am praying for a scholarship…It’s going to kill me to have an acceptance letter but turn Davidson down.

@dancepsychlove - if by some miracle we both end up at Davidson, I would really love to meet you! I think we would have a lot in common

Out of curiousity, are you planning on doing dance in college? If I go to Davidson, I don’t know if I would do the Dance Team or join the Gamut Company. I want to perform at games, but I’ve never really done hip-hop before lol

Just by asking that question, we do have a lot in common! I’m in the same boat. My dance company is mostly jazz, lyrical, and contemporary and definitely not hip hop, but I think performing at the games would be awesome. I gave my resume and video to the girl in charge of Gamut about a year ago and she said my styles more Gamut. But I don’t want to just perform at one random show, you know? I will definitely go to Davidson if I get in, so hopefully we’ll both be there!!!

So… March 25th eh?

Yes! At 9PM. Just my luck that I will be getting on a plane home from Moscow right at that time…
Good luck everybody!!!

Has anyone been invited to scholars weekend in March?

I didn’t…
They changed the decision date to March 26 at 10 AM…ahhh so nervous!

Really? Well, I’m going out of town that Friday, anyway. I think I’m just going to try not to think about it (ha! yeah right) and enjoy my weekend (should be doable). :)

I’ll be gone too…I’ll be flying home from Moscow! When I get home I’ll be rushing straight to the computer!
