<p>Davidson Fellows looks like it is going to be a lot of paperwork (essays, computer model, video)…plus it’s so competitive</p>

<p>Haha, yep, that’s the spirit. Yea, junior year is going well. The classes are actually a bit easier, but the EC’s have gotten more competitive/gotten a larger workload, so I suppose they balance out.</p>

<p>Question: When they say you need a “professional” nominator…well, how would you go about getting one? They mention college professors, but, I don’t know…it seems like it would be awkward to simply email a random university professor, and ask if they think your work is any good…</p>

<p>Introduce yourself and indicate your interest in a field. Explain what the Davidson Fellowship program is and if they’d be willing to assess your work or know of anyone who would. The person who I’m going to ask–if I finish–is a philosophy professor I met several years ago at a state-wide event where she was the session leader and apparently I stood out. I visited her at her school and she gave me two philosophy textbooks. I live in a pretty small town so I got pretty lucky.</p>

<p>I’m probably going to end up finishing the entire thing on Monday, sending it in Tuesday overnight, paying some $30 - 40 postage, and track it all night and hope it gets there by Wednesday, 5pm PST :P</p>
<p>ahh i wish i could but my research consists with a few others…I wouldn’t be qualified even though its super creative.</p>
<p>@rachel525 - I’m hoping that not TOO many people apply because the application is really long all the supplementary essays, paper/portfolio, movie, computer model…)</p>
<p>But then again the submitted applications are probably really good because of all the time required</p>
