I decided to create a discussion for this since for this class, it was sparse so hopefully everyone else who applied is doing great and hopefully, we will get our results soon.
Hey, thanks! Excited but nervous good luck to everyone!
@goblue8721 My stats are not stellar so I will be lucky to get in. Also, they have been radio silent about when they are releasing the decisions except for that email they sent out couple of weeks ago.
Also, note to everyone: please post your statistics similar to this order if you can:

Same with me! But nonetheless I am hoping! Good luck @sunshinemiracle When will decisions be out?
@goblue8721 They said in the email “in mid-March”. Judging by the previous regular decision admissions, it be on the 17th or later than that, but not by too much.
I am too anxious to wait until that day to post my statistics so I will post them now. Keep in mind that they are not stellar, but whatever, I would like the opportunity to go to Davidson.
In State or Out of State: In-state
Objective:
SAT I (breakdown): I got a 540 on both Reading and Math.
ACT: I have a composite score of 23. I had got a 33 on the Reading portion but I am not great at standardized test scores compared to the applicant pool.
SAT II: N/A
Unweighted GPA (out of 4.0): 3.58 (This is supposed to be way higher, like a 3.8, but you can thank my high school math teacher that everyone hated at my magnet school and had deterred me from pursuing computer science at a certain point until my math professor came into my life.)
Weighted GPA: 4.46
Rank (percentile if rank is unavailable): 5/152
AP (place score in parenthesis): N/A
IB (place score in parenthesis): N/A
Senior Year Course Load: Principles of Biology (Dual Enrollment), Precalculus Algebra (Dual Enrollment), Conceptual Physics and Conceptual Physics Lab (Dual Enrollment), English IV Honors, Computer Programming I, World Civilizations II (Dual Enrollment), College Transfer Success (Dual Enrollment), and Precalculus Trigonometry (Dual Enrollment)
Major Awards (USAMO, Intel etc.): Other than Student of Merit, that is it. I did not have those kind of opportunities to get those national or state awards, coming from a rural area.
Subjective:
Extracurriculars (place leadership in parenthesis): Chorus (Head Alto), Dance (One of the Head Dancers), Student Advisory Board (Surveyor), National Honor Society, Gaming Club, Mentor, Tutor (Leading Social Studies Tutor)
Job/Work Experience: N/A
Volunteer/Community service: I guess helping the elderly in my tribal community and church stuff but not that much.
Summer Activities: I had taken two college classes, which I had to abandon one for personal reasons while the other one, I got an A but it did not count since I had to withdraw that one too because teacher was having technical problems.
Essays: I wrote about mentoring and how I loved it and how I was doing subpar in math because of my high school math teacher was not good at all and every student had a problem with her, so did the other teachers too but I ended up getting a high “B” in my Precalculus Algebra class and said that did not stop me from accomplishing that.
Teacher Recommendation: I got a recommendation from my teacher who was my teacher for English III and English IV and another recommendation from my Conceptual Physics professor.
Counselor Rec: Do not know since I waived, but I must have been excellent based on the results have received for college stuff.
Additional Rec: N/A
State: NC
School Type: I went to a public magnet for my Freshmen through Junior years, then was forced to go to a regular, traditional calendar public school since they close down the magnet school but I have been working from home ever since junior year :).
Ethnicity: Black and Haliwa-Saponi Indian
Hooks (URM, first generation college, etc.): URM and first generation college and from a rural area that is not really competitive at my current high school.
So will it possibly be next Friday?
Probably, but they also are prone to release decisions on weekends during morning time.
@sunshinemiracle
Your stats are low, but Davidson is a pretty white school, so maybe your URM will help.
I have a 32 ACT, 4.0 UW GPA, so I am a solid applicant.
However, I am an international who needs full ride financial aid. So my chances suck.
But you never know
@Shabeezy Yup they are but I am relying on recommendations, essays, my progression on my transcript since test scores are becoming optional or leaning towards that. I am also relying on my rigor for my classes as well. They look at things holistically so you never know what can happen. Your stats are pretty great by the way!
@sunshinemiracle
Well its a great thing you dream big. That’s much better than those students with a 34 ACT and don’t apply to Ivies or top universities because they don’t think they have a chance.
@Shabeezy I also have 31 units so far and 35 at the end of high school so I have rely on things that make up for my test scores.
isn’t it mid-March yet? ughhhhh
@savagenumber1 Close to it but I think mid-March will be the 16th so four more days until that point. The wait is grueling though and they have not yet announced the specific date yet. I wonder why they are taking so long this time…
^ Is there any update on the RD decision date? There is nothing on the DC website.
I think it might be this Friday. Hopefully it’s the 15th.
Here is the link to last year’s regular decisions thread for Davidson: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/davidson-college/1856403-davidson-college-rd-class-of-2020.html
So with this, they got a notification via the application portal of Davidson, stating that the admission decisions was going to coming out on March 17th, 2016 but then, it was postponed until the 19th. I guess that is why they have not notified us yet because of that mishap with dates. I think they will tell us either two days or one day before they actually come out due to this; I could be wrong so take it with a grain of salt but it is interesting.
Hey guys! Let’s make this chat more lively. Im fro SouthFL my basic stats are
