I live in coastal Calif. and am struggling over a big, urban, weather challenged, commuter UW, which is so georgeous and exciting vs. coastal Cal Poly SLO which is friendly but not that awesome. I'm especially thinking about
how Calif. kids fit into the Wash. scene. I'm thinking of sorority to get me past the not knowing anybody stuff, but I don't know--what do you think????
I'm kind of inclined to go for it at UW but what can you tell me??

what are you going to major in?

I think it firstly depends on what type of atmosphere you're looking for in a school and secondly depends on your major.

I've been to both Cal Poly and UW and I must say, I like UW a whole lot more. CalPoly didn't offer the feel I was looking for in a school while UW in the people and surrounding area, seemed to scream out to me, "you should go here! you should go here!"

Have you checked out Seattle? If you haven't, I would recommend visiting the area before deciding. UW didn't end up being exactly what I thought it was going to be but I was impressed with the school nonetheless.
