Day on the Lawn

Is this for students trying to decide among schools or is it intended for those admitted and committed as well (ie. ED applicants)?

It is for students trying to make up their mind about coming to UVA, so we don't invite ED students.

Thank you.

So that we can plan prospective visits to schools in April, do you know what the date or dates for Day On The Lawn are?

Check the entry from March 16th on my blog.

My friends and I will playing badminton and croquet on the Lawn to creep out the visitors. Then, we will proceed to shout "send us your daughters" in unison.

Nah, just kidding.

Everyone will be pretty friendly on that day, feel free to talk to UVa students and ask them things they like and don't like about the school.

omg do it. if you dont, some other cohort of brownies should do it.
(j/k... but actually, if i bc-chat'd this, it would happen, so i will restrain myself from such)

Who's planning on attending April 13th Day on the Lawn? Next week, traveling with daughter throughout the state of Virginia, looking at all the campuses in which she was accepted. Hoping Friday, she'll be convinced UVA is the right fit for her.

I'm trying to get there on the 16th for Echols/Scholars... AUGH I will probably have to leave at like 5:30 in the morning though!

Dad's complaining :P

I'm going on the 13th.

D is trying to arrange for an overnight stay on 4/15. We will be there for Echols 4/16. Leaving NJ Sunday 4/15.

Oooh nice idea!

Who's she going through to get an overnight?

monroe soc?

Yes, contact Monroe society (look them up under undergrad admission website). Although my D has friends from the area who are now 1st year at UVA.

ohhh cool. Can't believe I forgot about monroe society.

if anyone is interested in meeting up to talk to me about any or all of the following while you are here for dotl:
-math at uva
-teacher ed prog at uva (i was just accepted to the elem ed prog)
-brown college (i live there i can give you a tour)
-jewish life at uva
-being sober at uva

officially i am signed up to do "lunch buddies" on the 9th and 16th (Mondays) from 1-2pm but dont hesistate to pm me if you want to meet up or talk on aim or anything.

i didn't go to dotl cause i knew i wanted to go to uva so it seemed pointless, also b/c i had already done an overnight... but if you haven't come to uva on an overnight before YOU SHOULD do dotl because the stuff they have lined up sounds really great!!!

Definately would looooove to talk w/ you about soberness and the artsy side of UVA even though I myself wouldn't be doing anything involving the fine arts.

feel free to pm me my aim is lizzyayla208 as well

I'm going on the 9th. Is tomorrow too late to call the monroe society about an overnight for that day?

you need at least 2 weeks advance notice i assume
