dc++

is DC++ ok to use?

dc++ is ok to use under only one circumstance and that is as long as the people, on the hub, that you are connecting to are all at ucla because then it is essentially a case of a student sharing their files with another student...if you are downloading files from someone else, it is to your disadvantage or to better phrase that: don't do it. because of this, a bunch of schools have their own hubs where only their students are allowed to go on...i know for a fact that berk has its own hub..i still have not heard of anything like a hub that is strictly ucla's...i was told i would hear it via word of mouth...but i haven't even started taking classes...if i hear anything (since i am a cs major..) i'll let you know...perhaps some of the veteran people can enlighten us as to whether ucla has a hub...flopsy?..anybody?..

There was definitely a UCLA hub a few years ago, but I haven't heard of one in a while.

UCLA does. It was active last school-year.

No comment. :rolleyes:

^ really? thats awesome - back when I was in the dorms, it was super active for a while, then got shut down, then another student started hosting it, but it was much less successful, and since then I didn't know if any hubs had sprung up. Good to hear file sharing is alive and well lol.

It works. When people post its address publicly or otherwise, they change it.
