DD went to wrong location for Princeton interview does this hurt her chances?

My DD was told to meet at a certain chain establishment in our town. She used GPS navigation and went to the wrong town. She contacted her interviewer and immediately drove to correct location (20 min late). Will this hurt her chances of getting into Princeton? Interviewer seemed chill about it but did say this has never happened before.

This is a minor misunderstanding / miscommunication which should not affect one’s chance of admission.

I would never hold that against a student in my report. Mistakes happen and she contacted the interviewer. I’m sure he/she had other things to occupy their time while they waited.

She did the right thing by communicating. It’s doubtful that the interviewer will hold that against her. Bear in mind that the alumni interview counts for little - they are mostly done to keep the alumni involved and to encourage them to give money. Admissions has no idea whether the interviewer is sharp or a weirdo - alumni interviewers aren’t vetted, and aren’t chosen by the admissions staff, so how could they place much weight on them?

Will not affect anything. She did the right thing by contacting right away. Don’t lose sleep over this.

Won’t affect her chances but a good lesson not to over rely on GPS.
