the test really isn't bad at all. I was pretty bad at math in high school and I placed into calc. That outline is exactly what you should follow. In fact I think those example questions show up on the test. Yeah, there's nothing really tricky about it.

It's not exactly easy since I think you have to get 80% correcct. I took it a couple months back at Mission College and passed it. Just brush up on pre-calc and trig if you've been away from it for awhile.

I also have to take a CAlc readiness test at my school, best way to go about/ or study for it, last math I've taken was 3-4 years ago in High school and that was ALg 2. Any sites that prepare/ teach calc fairly well?

I was going to find a math wizz Asian to help me fill in the gap from Algebra to Calc. Most likely give a little cash incentive also. I do not want to take anything less than calc, its like 2-4 semesters just to get to calc at my school.

Wow i took 3 other calculus readiness tests from other schools
and this one wasn't even close to all the material on them
i took notes on the pdf and everything and there was still problems that weren't covered

it was harder than expected, hopefully i got 20/30, will find out soon
gah

Does anybody remember what types of problems were on there? I'm taking it soon. The sample problems suck; there are like three of them on the site...

No the website is not the exact test, but the examples are much better on there. The question I gave you on the ball IS on there though (i dunno if they change forms or not but mine had it and i took it this summer). Unfortunately I only passed into Math 49B, fak, and it was full this summer. If i dont get in Math 49B in the Fall I can say bye to UCLA chances (since I need Math 1A, 1B too) :p

This is my first summer at de anza, and first quarter as I'm gonna be staying here this year to xfer. It's nice for a CC

I took the placement test in May, was interested in placing in Calculus 1A, and got in. If you're goal is to place in Calc 1A, you should focus more on precalculus and word problems. To kmzizzle, I didn't get that bouncing ball question either (I made an "educated" guess). If you have just finished taking any sort of precalculus course, I think you'll have a higher chance of placing in Calc 1A. That isn't to say that the placement test is easy...I'd say it's medium. Don't rely too much on the practice placement tests that you've seen online, because they're too easy in comparison with the actual test.

yeah its bs tho i got 17 and u need 20 to get into 1A
I already took AP Calc with B's both semesters in HS (but didnt take the AP exam) and the last time I had any alg2/precalc was sophomore year :|

If they gave me a straight up Calc AB test, i would have passed with flying colors lol
