Hey guys,

I'm asking about De Anza Community College in San Jose's Math 1D and 2A classes; can I take both of them at the same time, even though 2A lists 1D as a prerequisite?

Thanks!

You’d have to talk with an adviser there. Usually math courses run with prerequisites though, because you need to know the material from the previous class in order to do well in the next class.

What classes are they?

Yeah, I’ll see if I can do that. Math 1D is Calculus of Several Variables whilst 2A is Differential Equations; what’s weird is that I can take both at the same time at Foothill Community College, an adjacent college a mere 10 minutes away, with no issue.

It depends on school policy. My CC allows concurrent enrollment in calculus 3 and differential equations, but I don’t know if they’d allow it with calculus 2.

On a sidenote, De Anza is located in Cupertino, not San Jose.
