Hello, I originally majored Biology in other school and I thought it wasn't something I want to do. So I transferred to De Anza college as computer science major. I took Calculus AB from my high school and got an A in that course. The thing is that I never done any math courses after high school. I will take a placement test in a week and I doubt that I remember many things. I will likely get into Calculus 1 course. I am pretty nervous now and I'd like to know if anyone have experience with Calculus classes in De Anza. Also, I would be glad if anyone can give me suggestions.

Thank you

i think the placement test for jc is just basic math skills up to alg 2? someone can correct me if im wrong but I dont recall any calc stuff on my placement test at the jc I attended.

I believe mine was up to Pre-Calculus/Trigonometry, as you could use the placement test to get into Calculus. Just having a week, I don’t really know what to tell you (well now just a few days). Try to think of what you did when you were taking Math classes and if you don’t remember what to do, check Youtube. Trying to refresh math on short notice isn’t a great idea, although it can be done if you remember quite a bit (although you don’t think you do).

I am guessing you are planning to transfer to UCB/UCLA. What made you choose De Anza over other CCs like Diablo Valley, Laney, Santa Monica, etc?
