De Anza or Santa Monica?

Hi, I'm looking to apply for De Anza or Santa Monica as international student. I plan to major in mechanical engineering in UC's. I have a hard time deciding which college I should choose. I need some advice and suggestions. My questions are as below.

1) Which college is better? DA or SMC?
2) Which college has better pre-engineering programs? Which college can I register classes easier? (some classes are full before u can register)
3) Which college has better faculty staff? (esp. physics & maths professor)
4) Which college is easier to get into mech engineering in UC? (I know it depends on GPA, but from what i heard mech. engineering isn't as good in DA, is it true? Is SMC better in mech. engineering?)

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I live 5 mins from De anza. I can only speak on behalf of de anza and i know it has a great UC transfer program. Although i can imagine Santa Monica is way more vibrant than Cupertino. De Anza is regarded as one of the best cc’s in the state, so if your looking for transfers especially to UCs look at De Anza.

I went to DA and some of my friends moved from SMC to here because it was too hard for them to get in the classes they want there. I dont know about the program but just want to give you some info
