<p>"Come back and check here to see if it's still January 2, 2007 somewhere around the globe." makes its seem like it's between jan 2 and jan 3.</p>

<p>okay..i've been turning all of my applications in before the midnight between the deadline and the day after. there weren't any problems with my ED application to penn, and it's how i did yale and carnegie mellon, so i'm assuming that that's the way it works. my app will be turned in on the evening of jan 2.</p>

<p>Actually, what it says is that "you have until midnight on January 2 -- anywhere in the world." They wait until 11:59 PM on Baker Island time. This translates to 3:59 AM Pacific time, 6:59 AM Eastern Standard Time, and a cool 11:59 AM for all those Greenwichians. This is January 3rd for all those AM times. (And of course, still January 2nd for anyone applying from Baker Island.)</p>
