Can the teacher recs and SSR reach Yale a little after the SCEA deadline, or do they all and the application itself have to be there by Nov. 1?

I'm curious about this too.

Of course, I expect my recs will be in by November 1 because I've specifically mentioned this to both of my teachers...but obviously they are very busy people with lots of recommendations to write, and they may accidentally send their recs in a day or two late. Is this a big deal? I don't know.

The unversity probably wouldn't even start reviewing an app at all until all materials are in. Just remind your teachers (politely!) beforehand to make sure they at least get the letters postmarked by Novermber 1, to be on the safe side. I actually expect my recs to get there before my application does (!)

Rememeber that it says on the Yale application to be postmarked by Nov 1. I don't think that means when it arrives. But to be safe, make sure it's sent in before that. I told my teachers to send it in at least one week early so I don't have to deal with the deadline of Novemeber 1.
For the online application, too, you need to push the "submit" button on or prior to Nov. 1

Thanks.

An additional question: on the envelopes, should I just put Yale University or Yale College or both?

Wait... can't we send them in electronically? By common app?

On the flip side, one of my teachers just told me that he has already sent in his recommendation. Before I have sent anything. I'm assuming this isn't a problem?

nope, not a problem. this happens all the time. they'll just put your app together when all the pieces are sent in.
colleges know what to do with this stuff.
