Deadline Questions!!! Am I Dead??? Metaphorically...

<p>So, I'm applying to University of Chicago EA, and the deadline is Nov 1st.</p>

<p>My teachers have just send my recommendations to the school, but NOT EXPRESS!!! Which means that it will take about a week for the letters to arrive at chicago, I live in Alaska by the way. The letters have been postmarked and sent before nov 1st, but they probably won't arrive there in time.</p>

<p>So my question is,
do the application and letters of recommendations need to arrive at the school before nov 1st, or be postmarked and sent by nov 1st???</p>

<p>Just your part really needs to meet the deadline. How did this happen to you? Did you provide your recommenders w/ traking mail envelopes that were prepaid? I mean I hope you gave it to them ready to seal and drop.....that would be your responsibility.</p>
