HOLY CRAP, I did not realize this, but it's almost Nov. 1.....

I'm applying EA to 3 schools but have done nothing.

Well I have done the Common App (All three schools accept that), but I have not submitted it yet.

I don't have any teacher recs at all, ahhhhh how long does it take for a teacher to write one?

Also, I need my guidance c. to send my transcript to the colleges 15 WORKING DAYS before the deadline....and it's well less than 15 working days.....ahhhh..

Such a quick question...when colleges say the deadline is Nov. 1 does that mean EVERYTHING is due Nov. 1 or just the app?

Like is it okay if the transcipt, and recs arrive a little later or do they need EVERYTHING?

Hello! When colleges say the nov. 1 deadline, they mean documents sent to the college must be postmarked by nov. 1 (A postmark is a postal marking made on a document indicating the date and time that the item was delivered into the care of the postal service). ABSOLUTELY go hunt down those teacher recommendations ASAP. Your teachers won’t be very happy, therefore brace yourself if they won’t even write you one. Get the other stuff too Postmarked, but the teacher recommendation is definitely the most annoying thing to track down.

Good Luck! I hope everything turns out fine…

I asked my teachers for recs over a month ago and one has still not submitted his. He’s done this tons of times before and is very good, so I know he’ll write me one that isn’t at all slap dash. And the other teacher did the recs as soon as I gave her it, so she did it as speedily as he will. So, some teachers do recs very quickly. Two weeks is pushing it, especially since they probably have tons of others. But I think 2 weeks is quite often the minimum required amount of time to give teachers and counselors, so you’ll be okay.
To ameliorate things get your RA recs in early.

• Supplemental Application and Essay
•Application Fee
•Official Secondary School transcript
•Standardized Test scores: SAT or ACT with Writing

So now, I finished the “first part of the Common App” everything from the Future Plans to Signiture. (I didn’t sumbitted it yet because I have to pay the fee, and I’m doing that tomorrow). However they also need the Tech Rec and the Con Rec. On the Common App it asks for two Tech Rec, does that mean I need both or can I only get one teacher to do it. Also, say I’m applying EA to 2 other colleges, do I just print out three copies with three different envelopes and give it to my 2 teachers/consler?

The Essay I have done and uploaded that already, so i’m all set there.

…Mid-Year Report…it’s not even Mid-Year yet…so what’s the deal with that one?

The Supplement App and Essay I can do on Common App and will do that tomorrow as well.

AHHHH someone please help!!

Also, for the person above me, when you say it’s to late for tech rec, are you talking about the recs that teachers have to write a whole thing about or just fill out, cause the common app tech rec looks simple…

I have the same problem! I’m applying to a college that has a Nov. 1 deadline. I need ONE teacher recommendation and I still haven’t given it to any teacher.

Do you think I should ask one of my teachers if I could write my own letter of recommendation and have them just make a few changes/edits and sign off on it? I mean, it’s the only way I can apply… and I know some teachers make you do that anyway.

You need to find the most flexible teachers you know to get the recommendations. It may be that you won’t be able to apply EA, but you still need to ask for thoses letters ASAP…
Usually they sign the common app teacher form and write see attached and make multiple copies of it to send out.

Guys, if you can get the teacher rec postmarked by Nov. 1 then you meet the deadline. If not, then no EA. If the teacher is submitting the letter via Internet, that might be better.

To Mr California, the teacher needs to fill out that Common Ap teacher recommendation and write a recommendation letter to go along with it. Because of the time constraint, the letter would probably not be very personal/strong. Why don’t you regroup send in a stronger RD application instead of rushing?
