Deadlines...How Serious Are They?

Well, the college process is when procrastination really comes back to bite you in the @$$.

I have most of my stuff in (or posted marked before January 1st or whatever the deadlines are), but Boston College require AP scores be sent and U of Rochester alongwith a bunch of other schools suggest AP scores be sent.

AP scores can only be requested through phone or mail...and the offices appear to be closed during the holiday break...will I be OK if they arrive a week late?

And what if I'm missing materials for some reason and they contact me about it...will they still consider my app if certian materials are late?

most schools (if they're nice, hopefully you're applying to nice schools) won't care too much.

Occasionally, a good "stuck up" school (hmmmm no mentioning names here!) will have a problem but most of the time you'll be OK.

They are called DEADlines for a reason

luckily, schools are lax because people take time to get stuff done.

BC doesn't require AP scores sent. Where do you get your info?

wait...why do they require AP scores to be sent? i thought you only sent those after you've decided which school you're attending?

I'm looking at their app checklist and sending ap scores isnt listed as optional...maybe I'm wrong (I hope...cuz my ap scores will be late).

maybe they just mean that they want you to self-report the scores on your app.

No.9 on the checklist goes like this :

Have you requested that all AP exam scores be reported to Boston College (Code 3083)?

I got into the Honors Program EA without sending AP scores. I really don't think it matters. Maybe it's just for once you enroll? Otherwise that would just be a waste of money.

I agree... don't spend the money on sending them unless you know that they are willing to look at them after the deadline.
