Dealing with Budget Cuts

UC San Diego profs come up with budget fixer: Close UC Merced - Local - Merced Sun-Star

I know we're all facing the repercussions of the budget cuts, but I really don't see shutting down a campus as a viable option. The campus would incur more debt and prove to be a liability if it is shut down. What do you all think about the UC predicament? Just out of curiosity, what's your reaction to, "Hey, let's shut down Merced and save money!"?

hmm we were talking about this in my german class…a week ago.

Are they still planning to build a medical school at merced? They should have really thought of building of school in the middle of nowhere and just concentrate on the current UC’s. I think UCSB or UCSC deserve a medical school more than Merced.

nah, build a medical school near Clark Kerr. There’s plenty of space.
