Dealing with illness in college is terrible!

So I have a sore throat(I think I got it from weed stench in our dorm stairway), nasal congestion and swelling in my mouth, and they are SOOOOO painful. It makes me unable to do anything.

Just saying  How do you guys deal with them?

If it is SOOOOO painful, why not have it checked out at the health center?

Go to the health center

OTC meds and a clinic. Same way I dealt with it before college.

Ricola lemon cough drops for the sore throat. Or Luden’s. Hope you feel better!

I’m sorry you’re feeling so ill - I recommend Cepacol lozenges, I’ve been using those since I was pretty young and they’ve always helped a lot with sore throats. Remember to stay hydrated - it is very easy to become dehydrated when your throat/mouth are in pain because it makes drinking a burden.

This semester I’ve been trying to stay 2-5 days ahead of the syllabus in all of my classes so that if I am ill (or there’s some other sort of emergency) I can focus on addressing it without worry regarding schoolwork. A friend of mine said that its really important to keep a sort of buffer in place when it comes to college (and I agree). Sometimes life happens.

Go to the health center to have strep throat ruled out. If you have strep, it needs to be treated with antibiotics.
